“Great Indian/Pakistani food-Central London”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 28, 2014

…..and it won't break the bank, and the service is exceptional. I found this place on a total lark; it is around the corner from where I play cards. Of course you don't care about that….but you might care that it is on a quiet block two minutes on foot from Marble Arch, Selfridges, etc.

If you live in Paris you have at least one 'steak/frites' place. If you live in London you need an Indian restaurant you can count on. I am lucky to have two (the other being Moti Mahal…a bit more upscale near Covent Garden).

At Zayna, I knew I was 'home' the moment I walked in and was personally greeted by Akshay, the manager. 'What was I looking for?', he wanted to know. I was in a hurry, just wanted something light. So…..he took gentle control….he said 'How about if I bring you a light salad with fresh chopped vegetables (Kutchoomer Salad | £5.00!!), and a couple of curries, some rice and one nan. Perfect (we were a party of three).

Everything was fast, as asked, but this is not fast food, this is fantastic food. Wonderful spices in all the dishes, hot or mild as you'd like. Pakoras, Samosas…..these folk just flat out know how to cook…..and again, it won't break your pocketbook. If you're in the area, or anywhere nearby, give them a shot.

“Great spot for an impromptu curry”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2014 via mobile

Went here with a work colleague as a last minute change of plan. Food was excellent and staff helpful with suggestions without trying to 'upsell'. Great food, good service and a friendly atmosphere. Will be going back.

“very good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2014

I had Kutchoomer Salad, and Jheenga Baati with rice and they were good. I particularly recommend the salad. It has apple in it and gives a very different kick.

“Outstanding Food - Outstanding Owners”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 29, 2013

By far, one of the nicest, authentic and friendly owners of a London Restaurant I've ever had the good fortune to come across. A Christmas weekend away with my girlfriend lead us to this establishment when searching (on TripAdvisor of course), and we couldn't have been happier. Seated immediately, waited on with precision and care and to top it off, the taste of the food was outstanding. Not only this, but after a friendly reminder to the manager (who was of course rushed of his feet), that we were still waiting for our drinks order, he seemed to had seen this as an error on his part and gave us the drink free of charge! Prices were absolutely fair, as well as the service charge you'd come to expect from such a place; not one complaint about this great find. Just give it a try, I can assure you, it will not dissapoint!
