We tried this restaurant after a show because everyone seems to be raving about it. I don't want to be always judgmental but I do try to be honest. We ordered the meze and whilst it was fun and there were lots of plates coming out, half of them were bland and unidentifiable. The final meat plate was just low-grade barbecued cuts with no seasoning, when I would have preferred a sample of some of the classic Greek mains. I felt as though it was just a tourist menu with no flair. The restaurant itself was nice and authentic but the staff were not particularly welcoming. We were more comfortable in The Plough opposite where we went for a drink first.

Loved the food and service. Sensible prices. Succulent chicken kabab and salad. Retsina wine nice and about £14. per bottle. Nice and busy and a good atmosphere, warm.
Loved it and will call again

We always eat here when visiting the British Museum and are never disappointed. The restaurant has a lovely welcoming environment with friendly staff and great food. I especially recommend the kalamari and the lamb souvlaki, washed down with a bottle of Othello.

We visited Konaki on a Monday evening - the welcome was good, the atmosphere pleasant, the food hearty, the house wine pretty acceptable and all at a fairly good London price. I had an excellent rabbit Stifado, and a baklava with honey for dessert. A real gem - gives the impression of being family-run - and that's a compliment....!

Each January, when we travel to London, we always make sure we have one dinner at Konaki. The service is wonderful and the food is delicious.
