“amazing surroundings”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

I was here with my son, some time ago.
We needed a rest, a warm up and refreshments. It was just the right place for us.
We had some lovely first courses and warm drinks. Quality, astonishing choice, special atmosphere with a great view to the inner court. Prices are affordable.

“A pricy but excellent place to eat”
Reviewed August 25, 2013

Its not cheap, but its very good food, in fact the three different meals we had were all really excellent. I would have liked a cup of tea as well but there were separate queues for each of the counters, then we had to queue to pay then try to find a seat - could be better organised but in comparison to the maritime museum its the difference between 5 and 0.5 stars. Would have given it excellent but only the food was.

“A place for a reunion”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

We always like to meet in your cafe for family reunions - enjoy coffee - then browse the museum - returning to enjoy lunch. The food is delicious - something for everyone - well done

“lovely setting”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

this is a lovely cafe and a perfect place to have a cup of tea with scone and clotted cream. you are spoilt for choice from the tree rooms. all of which have been designed differently. in fact at the museum tour they talk about these rooms.
if you fancy the sun you can take your tray outside in the open, which overlooks the water body. a useful thing if you have hyperactive kids :)

“A fresh and wholesome treat !”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

This is the second time that I've chosen to eat lunch at the V & A in the last month while on trips to London. I can see why so many people who work locally decide on the V&A as a lunchtime venue of choice too ! This is a quality experience - surroundings are stylish without being pretentious. There's enough space to let you enjoy conversations with friends without having to shout but with enough privacy and space to relax and enjoy good food and good company ! Staff are polite and accommodating although the self - service system for the various food :styles' (hot food, sandwiches, cake and coffee etc) is a little chaotic and slow and would be a nightmare to navigate if you had a family requesting different types of food. However the quality of the food itself is excellent - the humous wrap and salad I had was fresh, tasty and very filling and used quality, wholesome ingredients. The only suggestion I would give to improve this venue would be to introduce a more effective air-con or ventilation system. The café was unbearably hot and humid - agreed it was the hottest day of the year but a cooling ceiling fan or a gentle chill via an air con unit would make a huge difference to this otherwise wonderful eatery.
