We booked a day in London with Mr. Glen Portch of Gren tours and it was one of the highlights of our three week tour through Europe. Glen is a licensed Blue Badge guide which is an important credential in London and his knowledge of the culture, food, history, art, and architecture of the city is staggering. We were able to do and see so much more with Glen than we could have on our own with guide books and this was one of the best investments we made on our vacation. Some of the highlights of the day were Westminster Abbey, the Queen’s horse guards, eating outstanding Fish and Chips (Glen knows the best place), and the Tower of London. The itinerary was customized based on our interests which was wonderful. Most importantly we really enjoyed spending time with Glen. He is a charming, funny, genuinely nice and interesting man. I highly recommend him and will not hesitate to contact him the next time we get back to London.

Our family of 4 including 2 boys aged 10 & 12 (who have an avid interest in historical things and events) spent an entire day from 9am to 5pm with Glen on the day walking tour of London. Throughout this, Glen hardly stopped talking and answering all our questions. He tailors the trip to suit the client and at the same time squeezes in so much sightseeing of the obvious as well as the hidden London. We particularly liked the tour of the Abbey, fantastic view of the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace and the surprise (I won't spoil it for you) sight of a very ancient wall near the Tower of London. Glen is a blue badge tour guide and because we had him on our third day after 2 other tours including a bike tour we could see his knowledge was first class and accurate. Thank you Glen, you are worth your weight in gold. We have already recommended your tour to other Aussie families planning to visit London.

Glen could tell you more than you EVER wanted to know- if you asked. But he tells you only what you are interested in learning with patience, good humor and a killer notepad (which we used like crazy to keep straight all the Royals.) He is a member of the Blue Badge society, the REAL guides, trained for several years before they are allowed to take on any tourists! Whether you choose to skip along with him on a Walking Tour, or choose to be chauffeured in his incredibly comforable (quite new) Mercedes, you will receive all his attention, all his amazing knowledge and often special surprises, once he knows what you like. (Example: I mentioned I'd worked as a criminal defense attorney, and impossible as it is, he got us into a trial in the Old Bailey!) We booked 2 1/2 days for - a general walking tour of all the sites one day, a half day at Westminster and the Tower, and a driving day out to Windsor Castle and back around the Neighborhoods of London. We were in London for nine days and these were the BEST (well, besides the shopping.) Don't even THINK of using anyone else, but book him way in advance. He is VERY much in demand!!!

We had a fabulous full day tour of London with Glen. His knowledge of the history , art and all the attractions is incredible. The fish and chips lunch was the best. Glen, we enjoyed the rock and roll stories and even your jokes. Thank you so much from 4 Canadians---we all hope to return and use your company again.

My friend and I took the 4 hour walking tour with Glen and we loved it. Having just gotten off an overnight flight, we were very tired, but Glen kept us interested and engaged. We saw all the sights and learned a lot about London and it's history. Glen had lots of great tips for us for things to do on the rest of our visit.
