Went here with a couple of good friends for a pre Christmas curry, having booked online. We arrived about 10 minutes late, the pubs were very busy!
The restaurant was nearly full and very busy - however our table had been reserved and all was fine, a good start. The food arrived promptly and was very tasty and of good quality. Service was spot on, not rushed but not slow and the atmosphere really good.
For a busy location this was a good night out and I would recommend to anyone that enjoys a good traditional curry.

Tucked off a side street very close to South Kensington Tube station. Very small inside, but cozy. VERY attentive and respectful service. Prices are average-to-slightly cheaper than other Indian restaurants we visited. The papadum was much cheaper than others and better. You will see a variety of dress by clients (from suits and ties to jeans) and it seemed to be filled with locals. We rented an apartment closeby and our landlord recommended it--and we were not disappointed. We tried the close-by Kahn's another night, and Kahn's was more expensive and a notch lower in quality and attentiveness to service.

If you are in the South Kensington area I would very much recommend Shikara.

This was our 2nd time there and the expectations from the 1st visit were fully met!! We'll be back for sure!! Small but cosy, with a wonderful indian cuisine, meals (very) well served, average price, always open and conveniently close to where we usually stay, what could one ask for more if one's on the mood for the indian flavors!

I've eaten curry left, right and centre - in all the famous haunts (Brick Lane, Birmingham, even had it in India) and this place is hands down one of my favourite places to come. Food here is fresh, clean and delicious. One thing that stands out is always that the food is never swimming in ghee/oil, they will also do your curry with olive oil upon request for all the health conscious crowd.

I have eaten in and had take-away several times and it's truly spot on. Restaurant has a nice vibe to it and all the staff are lovely and friendly. Both eating in or out, it's super value and I highly recommend coming here for a delicious, authentic and superb value experience.

Forget Brick Lane, come to Shikara W1.
