“The best part of our London vacation”
Reviewed May 18, 2018 for a stay in May 2018

What an experience! The Harpy Houseboat had everything we needed. Comfortable beds, 3 bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen and the best views of London. Andrew met us to review how to use and find everything on the houseboat, including a top notch coffee maker and he left us with coffee. It was the best coffee we have ever had. I would absolutely recommend staying at the Harpy. It was very clean, comfortable and the best host you could ask for. It was an experience of a lifetime and one we hope to repeat! Thank you so much Andrew.

“Amazing Experience !!”

I was lucky enough to spend last week on the utterly unique Harpy Houseboat and we had an amazing stay.

The boat is incredibly comfortable and is furnished like a home with so much love and attention. I spent hours just walking around the boat looking at all of the different pieces of art never mind the view that is so every changing that you could literally spend a day gazing out of each viewpoint. The kitchen is equipped with anything you might have in your own house and more !!

The location is great with lots on your door step. We had an outstanding meal in "Bravas Tapas" which was an enjoyable walk just over Tower Bridge and had some lovely coffee and crepes in "Le Pont de la Tour" only a short stroll from The Harpy.

As we were staying in the middle of a show storm we were concerned that we may not be warm enough but this was not the case and we remained cosy throughout the stay - so much so we hardly wanted to leave the boat at all.

Andrew was a perfect host and looked after us so well - we really felt like we were staying in a friends house. We have all fallen in love with The Harpy and are already planning when we can come back and visit again.

“Beyond Excellent..”
Reviewed February 2, 2018 for a stay in January 2018

Five of us stayed here for 3 nights to celebrate a double birthday (mine and my daughter's) which had been booked as a surprise although my husband let slip it was a house boat. We had not expected anything so amazing in such a fantastic location with superb views of Tower Bridge. All the fittings, fixtures, furniture and art work in The Harpy are beautiful and in keeping with such a lovely old 'boat'. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and we struggled to find anything that was missing however in the end we did come up with a pizza wheel! though maybe there was one somewhere but we just didn't find it in the many drawers and cupboards.
Waking up in the morning and drawing the electric curtains in the Master Cabin to reveal the stunning view of Tower Bridge is a memory that we will always remember fondly. We are glad we didn't have many activities planned in London so we could sit and admire the views and watch the tide go in and out and The Harpy move up and down. When we left and came home we missed the gentle rocking. The Harpy was a fantastic bubble in busy London and it was hard to believe that we were so close to all the action.
We really appreciated the time that Andrew spent showing us around The Harpy. He was the perfect host and it was good to hear about the history of the 'boat' which obviously is his pride and joy. Maybe in addition to the manual explaining the working of items and where to find things a page on the history of The Harpy would be interesting for guests.
Thank you so much for sharing The Harpy with us.

“Best accommodations in London ”
Reviewed January 16, 2018 for a stay in January 2018

The Harpy is amazing. It was more impressive than we could have imagined. The view of the Tower Bridge is unmatched and the location is perfect for exploring the city. Top to bottom everything was great. The ship is spotless and makes you feel right at home. Everything you could need is provided and Andrew’s tour and hand book will guide you through all the ins and outs of your experience while aboard. Don’t even get me started about the beds. They are the most comfortable things in England. We missed almost all our morning activities as the beds wouldn’t let us leave. If there was anything better than sitting on the deck having a cup of tea looking at the bridge while David Bowie plays throughout the boat from the Sonos system I don’t know what it is. We will be back. Can’t thank you enough Andrew. Cheers.

“A very very special place”
Reviewed November 13, 2017 for a stay in November 2017

The Harpy is permanently moored at China Wharf on the Thames. From the moment we met the owner Andrew, we knew this was going to be a very special weekend on a very special boat. Andrew was so welcoming and took time to give us a tour of the boat explaining everything we might need to know on the way. We were provided with a lovely welcome pack and left to celebrate my 70th birthday with my family. All our expectations were exceeded, we had champagne on the deck, and the views of Tower Bridge, especially at night, are absolutely stunning. The four double cabins are very comfortable, however, ours was just fantastic. Electric operated curtains open up to a direct view of the Thames and The Tower of London. Saturday morning we were lucky enough to see Tower Bridge open to salute the Lord Mayor in the Queens Barge Gloriana arrive at the Naval establshment opposite us! The boat is so beautifully well equipped I cannot think of one thing that should be added to enhance a stay, it is comfortable, wonderful tv and hi fi system, the beds and linen top quality and obviously loved by its owners and now us. My son is planning a stay next year and all my friends are rushing to their computers to see if they too can enjoy, what for me was just the perfect weekend. Thank you so much Andrew, if I could give this review 6 stars I most certainly would. Sue
