We had afternoon tea booked following a tour as an anniversary treat. We arrived on time and were told that someone would be with us immediately to take our order. We waited over 25 minutes before anyone approached us. After this we were served. It was a set tea but we were not offered any extra sandwiches. The sandwiches were very small but tasty. There was a scone each but no choice of plain or fruit. I don’t like fruit scones so had to pick the fruit out. The cakes were good and the millionaire shots were very nice.

The crockery and tea service was stylish and the view was nice but service poor. We were overcharged for our champagne and wine but this was because the menu we were given was a year out of date so the prices had changed. They were not very friendly about it and there was no apology and they just expected to pay the new prices. We didn’t pay the new price because of their attitude and this did not go down well and he expressed his opinion quite loudly which was embarrassing.

It was fine as a way of finishing off the tour but there are better places to have afternoon tea if that is what you are looking after

I'm glad I had the experience and saw the view, but I really can't recommend the afternoon tea.

The service was impeccable, and the petit fours were elegant, as were the teapots and teacups with the portcullis emblem. But the teapot had clearly not been warmed, and they used a teabag rather than making a proper pot of tea.

It was massively disappointing.

Just visited the cafe inthe houses of parliament . No hot food ,no sandwiches and ovens were empty at 13.30 pm.
Requested when more food would be available -45 minutes for hot food and nothing about sandwiches.
Someone needs to get this organised quickly as its a very poor service.

A very disappointing afternoon tea
The food was paltry portions compared to others
The service was shambolic, our order was taken and promptly lost in the kitchen and as we were sitting near the kitchen we could hear the ensuing argument about who/why lost the ticket.
Our was eventually taken again whilst the waitress explained how the guy in the kitchen was incompetent!
The tea and coffee arrived and the coffee was lukewarm.
We managed to get the attention of another waitress(it appears the original one had been sent home!) and asked for a new pot of coffee, at which point we were told we'd put too much milk in the coffee (quite a surreal comment)
We did get a new pot which was hot
Hallway through we were offered a window table, which would have meant moving everything, which we declined.
All in all worthy of an expensive and Fawlty Towers experience

Great experience here for afternoon tea after a tour of the palace of Westminster. Nice choice of teas , sandwiches and cakes. Just the right amount and didn't leave you feeling overwhelmed like some afternoon teas can. Great views of the river from the terrace and because there are just two fixed sittings you are unhurried. I would have given this a 5 star review but deducted a couple of points for the dirty windows that somewhat detracted from the view and also the bait boxes for mice right inside the entrance near our table and in fact a mouse was spotted outside by another diner.
