We arrived early that wasn't a problem but although we were still drinking and spending money we were given our bill with out asking for it and told we should have vacated the table by 9pm. We pointed out we had not been advised of this when we booked or we would not have made a reservation..

One of the waiters had earlier dropped the plates when clearing the table and spilt hot wax on one of our party for which they did not apologise or even offer us a complimentary drink. .

We thoroughly enjoyed what we ate but we would not return and regret paying the added service charge, they did not deserve it. If they had had queues of people we could have understood there request. There behaviour spoilt our whole experience. .

We have eaten here three times and always found the food to be exceptional. Don't come here if you are looking to be pampered, the service is efficient and friendly but the food speaks for itself. There is a great selection of tapas dishes and lovely wines to complement the food. The Iberian ham and cheese potato croquettas are phenomenal, as is pretty much everything else we have tried here. Probably our favourite restaurant. Book a table as it's very popular.

Party of 7 late birthday early evening event ages under 10 to over 50. If you're put off by the location, don't be. When you cross Battersea Rise southwards into Northcote Rd the environment morphs virtually in an instant to become less stressful as well as being much easier on the eye.

Lola Rojo is quite small but not overcrowded as far as I coud see even when full ( which it soon became). The menu reveals many traditional tapas and several innovative new ideas. We chose on average three per person progressing down the menu and shared them between us all. The Manchego lollipops were inspirational as was the fabada. The prawn carpaccio was novel and the cold meats and toast bread with alliolii evocative of a small Balearic village cafe offering. The brava potato and duck eggs were also delightful.

I been around the edges of much of Spain, its various islands and former colonial outposts but Lola Roja's wine list was expert and by and large a mystery. The requested advice was however spot on and we enjoyed some good yet hitherto unknown wine.

Several desserts were sampled and the scraping of spoons to clean the last traces off various plates and no offers to share indicated they were all enjoyed.

Service was attentive and helpful; we were even advised not to order too many tapas as we had ordered enough.

If you fancy a part authentic, part innovative tapas Lola Rojo should fit the bill. We had a good time.

We dropped into this place on a Friday night and managed to secure a table. The menu was very varied and I thought it was reasonably priced, although a litre of sangria added a lot to the final bill. 7 between two was more than enough. The duck egg, ham and potato was fantastic and both the cheese and the chorizo lollipops were a nice treat. will definitely go back and would recommend.
