Surprisingly lovely hotel given the great value prices. A deserved 4 star official rating. Looks and feels newley refurbished with very high standard of finishings, fixture & fittings, particularly in the bathrooms. The rooms are on the small side but excellent quality.

First of all, my impression is that this in NOT a real "hotel", it's a B&B accommodation... Outside at the front door there was no sign "Hotel", or firm, just a little firm in the window with the name of the "hotel", so we pass by two times before we located it.
Second, the rooms are very, very small, most of them with no window: first we have one of these "de luxe" no window room, but we ask for a room with a window, and we receive one. Nice and very kind staff!
The location is poor: 10-15 min from the nearest tube station, and too far from anything else in London.
The single great atu of this "hotel" was the rate, we found a good value for money here in this expensive town.

i have just come back from what was supposed to be a lovely weekend away in london with my partner... the hotel was atrocious, NEVER even consider staying at this hotel, the staff were extremely unhelpful. we arrived at the metropolis only to be moved to another hotel in prices square, we were put in a basement room where the window did not close and had a huge generator directly outside which sounded like a hair dryer going off every 2 minutes for five minutes a go. i asked to be moved to another room when the receptionist told me there were no other double rooms available. after a second complaint regarding the noise, my partner then took control of the situation and contacted the manager of the metropolis. he offered us free breakfast and a bottle of wine...this obviously does not solve the fact that it would be impossible to sleep...the hotel then suddenly discovered there was another room we could move to and we were moved to a floor up with the generator still outside the window, however the window to this bedroom did close so the noise wasnt so loud ...although we still couldnt sleep.
the staff i will add did not appologise once and quite frankly if we didnt end up just having to laugh about it, it would have ruined our weekend, luckily we only had to spend one night in the hotel!

The room we had was small but adequate for our needs and was very clean and tidy. The hotel staff were extremely polite and helpful. The location is ideal for sight seeing as you are only about 5 minutes walk Edgeware Road Underground station. Although we were at the front of the hotel it was far quieter than previous Travelodges we have stopped at.....when we go back to London again I would definitely use this hotel again.

The hotel itself is fine, rooms are very nice (we paid extra for a club room), breakfast was lovely but the location isn't at all what we expected. All the write up's state the location is great & in the heart of London but the hotel is actually a 15min walk from Oxford St & when I say Oxford St I mean at the very beginning (Marble Arch), if you want to go to the West End or say China Town it will take you around 30mins to walk there. I also didn't feel particularly safe on Edgware Rd (the hotel is on a street off this main rd) at night time so we took a taxi at night, it cost us £17 to get to West End & this was from Marble Arch, would have been around £25 from the hotel the taxi driver said. All in all the hotel is fine but if you want to be central to Leciester Square, West End etc then don't stay here, if you want to be close to the Hyde Park end it will be fine but like I said your looking at a 15min walk from the hotel to Hyde Park. I would recommend the hotel in a different location but purely on location I'd say no.

Just got back today after a 2 night stay in London. My friend and I managed to find the hotel very easily from Marble Arch tube (6min walk). The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. The rooms are very well decorated and spotless (not huge but adequate). Our room was on the 1st floor overlooking the road but there was very little traffic noise so it did'nt disturb our sleep. I will definately go back to this hotel on our next planned trip to London.

The booked hotel does not have the advertised rooms. They said they are having "problems with the heating" and, at the same time, claim it's a "marketing issue" !!!!

They wanted me (and another guest) to carry to another more shabby hotel at the other side of the Hyde Park (Cromwell Road). Read about the very same issues in other Tripadvisor reviews for this hotel.

This is a rip off.

It is a very mean and nasty fraudulent strategy to catch people at night having few other options to go. I eventually found another hotel and canceled the reservation.
