This central hostel was really not the £11 I paid. First of all the location is fine but the way it is built is really not convenient. The entrance is more like a basement entrance where you have to go through the narrow but also dirty stairs. The kitchen was a tiny kitchen which was filled with guys doing different kinds of food and it was not a nice scene. I finally entered the "reception" which was the tv room where the receptionist was not available and I was told by some random guy that he might be in the kitchen. After 5 minutes, he showed up and he could have atleast been friendly but he looked angry and apparently there is a £5 deposit for the key to the room which I was never informed about. The toilets were divided into male toilets and female toilets. The male toilet was so tiny that it would be impossible for anyone to even enter and the bathroom downstairs did not have soap to wash my hands. The rooms were filled with bunk beds and no lockers to keep personal items so basically there was no security. The staff are rude and the way that the hostel is designed is not very pleasant. I would not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel.

The sheets were dirty and when asked for clean ones they gave us ones even diertier!

The wifi only works on the ground floor and we were on the 3rd and only worked on the first night! Wifi really comes in handy when you travel, you know?

There were some fridge or something in the room that was really loud and the door was really loud when you opened (waking up other people in the room).

Location is really good! Excellent zone and near city attractions and the underground subway.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 3rd floor are quier but have no wifi.

- Twin Private room.
Doors squeak stupidly loud and slam (fire doors) INSANELY loudly and wake you up all night!
The plumbing rattles in the walls loudly and keeps you awake.
Paper thin walls.
Fridge in room had dead insects in.
Cupboard was smashed.
People on reception desk were miserable and didn't want to be there, not even a hello.
Towels are for hire for £2 but no one told us.
WiFi does not work if there are more than 10 people on.
WiFi does not reach to the top 2 floors.
6 flights of stairs (no lift) - Also no offer from Reception to help us with our bags.

They have overlooked the very simple things which shows they don't care.

The hostel is really cheap and close to the underground and easy to reach by bus.
Bayswater area is nice and calm, not like in the city center.
We arrived at 11 o'clock as I stated in the booking but they gave us the room in the afternoon. (the kept our luggage for free, and the receptionists are all kind)

The only problem was the shower. We were supposed to have an ensuite bathroom but the shower was out of order. moreover the sink was REALLY tiny.
Generally the room was not really clean, but feasable.
Differently from other cheap hostel, this one had a fridge, a radiator (it was really cold in the night, so it was useful), a table with chairs.

The kitchen is tiny but has everything. If you want something REALLY clean, avoid this one, but consider that the price is really good.

Room Tip: The room with 4 beds and the ensuite bathroom was at the ground floor but it was really silent...

I visited Central Hostel only once and definitely will not be back again. I cannot complain about the cleanliness of the place, price or location but all the rest was just a joke.
Starting from the bunk beds - there is no ladders so how can you get on the bed?? I struggled, really, thanks to a nearby desk I managed somehow to climb up!
Stairs that leads to the entrance are quite risky, the "TV room" is shared with the reception so you have to watch whatever receptionist wishes to watch and try to talk quietly not to disturb her/him!
It is freezing cold in there - there was only one heater and guess where was it located? Behind the receptionist's back. So only his bum was warm that night....

It was just a stop off place before we jetted around the world for our gap year! The location & price were its biggest plus points I feel! It was our only hostel experience in the uk ! So nothing to base it on unfortunately! But the staff were helpful! It's an older building but has character ! When we land back on London will probably head back purely because it's cheap & cheerful :)

Got there at 2 gave us a key to a full room where we pissed everyone off soon as we popped the light on. Got it sorted tho. No lockers which was kinda sketchy. It is in a good location and its cheap so I guess you get what u pay for.
