“A little bit different”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

The hotel was very close to and easy to find from Paddington Station with Kensington Gardens within strolling distance, so a decent location. Very friendly staff at reception and an efficient check-in. The room itself (at the front of the hotel) was reasonably spacious and decorated in a typically interesting way. The shower room was rather small. As with too many hotels, the air conditioning is centrally controlled and was set so that it only heated the room. This meant having to open the windows to cool down the room and then sleep with the window open. Not a major problem but something of an irritation - London can be warm even in April! Breakfast the next morning was fine, except that the table was a silly little round thing that was too small even for one.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review our hotel. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay, our location and the design features of our bedrooms. Regarding the airconditioning, unfortunately it is centrally controlled but it is no problem to change the settings for you if you let our reception team know. We also do have larger table sin our restaurant and will be sure to allocate one of these to you should be have the pleasure of having you to stay with us again. First stay, I have chosen this hotel for the short proximity to the Paddington Station (literally 2 min walk). The hotel is amazing! Very clean, crisp, boutique style rooms. Our room was at the front of the hotel but the outside noise was barely noticeable. Free WiFi - also very helpful and needed! The room was big enough for two with very comfortable bed and a little couch!!! Very clean and beautiful bathroom with walking in shower (enough room for two ;) ) Little fridge in the room with cold soft drinks and water and special something with the compliments from the hotel, this was on the top of the tea/coffee making facilities... brilliant touch! Staff - very professional and friendly, nothing was too much trouble.
The only downside was a breakfast. We've stayed for two nights and both mornings the food was an average, if we'd stay there another night I would probably choose to go somewhere else for a breakfast. One morning I had two poached eggs - one over cooked (solid!) other one very runny - both cold. Next day full english - also cold. On the menu there are Cumberland SausageS but you only get one!! Waiting staff, nice enough but sluggish with the "do-I-have-to-be-here" attitude and you have to ASK to be served. Shame that as the hotel is excellent!! Overall great base in London and I will definitely come back but on room only basis. Highly recommended though!!!

So I'm actually writing this in my room in the Indigo, having just been upgraded to a lovely suite because I arrived a little before checkin and the smaller room I had initially booked wasn't yet ready. And that pretty much sums up the quality of service here - excellent. (I should mention that this isn't my first stay at the Indigo Paddington, I was here a few nights ago too, and found it equally as good then...)

The hotel is a stones throw from Paddington station, which is why I initially chose it. Easy access to the circle and bakerloo lines via the tube, and to the Heathrow express and country lines via the station. There are plenty of lovely eateries within easy walking distance, and if you're feeling energetic, Hyde park is only a 20-30 minute stroll away.

The rooms are beautifully appointed, well maintained and clean. My first night here was in a small single room up on the top level which, while tiny (though fine by inner London standards) was impeccably fitted out. The upgraded room I'm in at the moment is equally well appointed, and luxuriously spacious.

Nice touches (fantastic touches!) include the complimentary mini bar - free mineral water and soft drink, and lovely fast free wireless internet.

All in all, I don't imagine you'll do a lot better than this.

I can't recommend this hotel highly enough - I've stayed here twice and each time I haven't left disappointed.

On this occasion we arrived at 1pm and were able to check in early, which was very helpful.

There is free Wi-Fi available and we had a free mini bar full of soft drinks and water.

The rooms are lovely. They are not huge, but you wouldn't expect them to be in London. Very nicely decorated and everything looks new and is of a very high standard.

The hotel is very well located and less than a two minute walk from Paddington station.

Fantastic hotel.....really nice rooms and superb location. There are plenty of bars and restaurants on the street so don't have to stay in the hotel. The food was pretty good but the service ins't the quickest. Not a massive problem if you have plenty of time but could be an issue if you're in a rush. Would definitely stay there again.

Really handy for Paddington, this is a small but very up to date hotel. The room was a good size, bed exceptionally comfortable , the room was quite chic and came with free soft drinks with chocolate. Very friendly , helpful staff. My one reservation is the attached brasserie which seems to run out of things quickly

Dear Mr. Herlihy,

Many thanks for your feedback and kind review! We are so pleased you enjoyed the service, room design, comfy bed and complementary soft drinks at the hotel. It is a delight for us to know we made your stay enjoyable!

Thank you also for the feedback on the restaurant; as we have had an extremely busy time in the recent lovely London sun, it has been unfortunate that certain items have run out on our busiest evenings and I do apologise for this. We are working on improving this situation immediately to ensure it does not happen again as far as we can.

We hope to be able to welcome you back in the future
!
With best wishes.

We stayed for 4 nights during July and chose the hotel primarily for it's proximity to Paddington Station and the Heathrow Express - the hotel is only a few minutes walk to the station. A number of tube lines also run through Paddington. An excellent boutique hotel - nice, well appointed (albeit small) room in a good neighbourhood. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful.
Wireless internet was included and worked well. There is a cafe on the ground floor, where we had a reasonable breakfast at a competitive price - there are, however, no shortage of eating options in the immediate area. There are numerous grocery stores in the vicinity and a Sainsbury's in the Station (plus an M&S food outlet & Boots chemist). The hotel is around a 10 minute walk to Hyde Park. The only downside is that there is some street noise and light, so earplugs and eyeshades are advisable for light sleepers (no noise ,however, from adjoining rooms).
