Found Castletown via Tripadvisor and all emails before my stay where handled with quickly. I booked the Charville studio, which was lovely, my only negative was that it was a bit noisy but then again I am a light sleeper and armed with earplugs I slept really well because I loved the bed.

You can't beat the location, it's in zone 2 but minutes away from West Kensington tube on the District line(very handy for the Tower of London, Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Kew Gardens, StPauls(Mansion House) etc), and Barons Court tube only a bit longer away(District but also on the Picadilly line, very handy for Heathrow/StPancras).

Supermarkets there is a Tesco Express almost round the corner, a Coop also close by, and if you pass West Kensington Tube and cross to the other side there is a small Sainsbury's close by too, not to mention the many cornershops incl. a 24 hour one. So there are no problems stocking up your kitchens, and a map provided by Castletown also shows any takeaways nearby.

I personally loved the free wifi, I never had to use my London guidebooks as I could just check everything online(I had brought along both my iphone and my MacBook)

Overal a very lovely stay, actually just enquired about a possible next stay.

Room Tip: the Charville has it's own patio, small but nice for summer.

We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment and then a three-bedroom apartment at Castletown House. The price for a whole apartment in London is amazing! The location is very convenient. It's just a few minutes walk to either the West Kensington or Barons Court tube stops. It took all of 10 minutes on the tube to get to the major tourist attractions. There are many restaurants and grocery stores nearby. The apartments are actually in two separate buildings, both on quiet side streets. The apartments are spacious, with kitchen facilities, living room, and eating area. We first stayed in the two-bedroom upon arrival in London. We then spent a few days elsewhere in England and returned to stay in the three-bedroom apartment. Actually, we had booked a one-bedroom for our second stay. We asked if the two-bedroom would be available, but it was booked, so the owners upgraded us to the three-bedroom for the same price as a two-bedroom. The apartments are not fancy, but are equipped with acceptable furniture, towels, linens, appliances, etc. The owners (father and son) are obviously very interested in providing the best service possible. There are a few areas that could be improved, however. While the apartments are generally clean, we did find a few stray hairs in the bathroom of the two-bedroom and someone's leftover crumbs and jelly spill on the couch in the three-bedroom. A bit more oversight of the cleaning service could fix these lapses. Also, while when we reported any problems with the apartments they were quickly resolved (TV on wrong settings, internet not working), it would have been helpful if everything was checked before arrival to ensure all was in working order.
Overall: excellent price and location, great to have extra space especially for families.

Nothing fancy just the right accommodation for our needs. 9 days exploring London only 3 minutes to the local Tube station. We liked providing for our own dietary needs without having to make special orders. Making lunches to have during the day kept expenses down. We managed to find the best and cheapest coffee in London at Christine's. Ask Mark for the address.
We could wander out each evening and decide to eat out at any of the many small restaurants or visit one of the small supermarkets and cook at home. One of the big attractions was to have clothes washing facilities in our one bedroom apartment. Our hosts also provided ,for a small fee, sheets and towels for an extra guest to stay.
Hosts most accommodating. If we return to London would certainly think about this one again.

Room Tip: 1 br apart gave bit more room for extended stay

Stayed at 51 Barton Court for 4 nights with our family of 5 (3 teenage children) and the stay was fantastic. Mia Marsh went out of her way to make sure the flat was ready and we were accomodated. She was there when we arrived and made sure we knew what to do and where to go. The flat was great for a family of 5 with ample room. The kitchen was well appointed (though a little small - but we only used it for light breakfast). The washing machine and dryer were excellent for us as we were in the middle of our month-long holiday and needed to catch up on some laundry. The flat was very convenient to the Barons Court Tube Station(200 yards) but a little far from the shops on North End Road, though that far that we couldn't get the essentials we needed and carry them back to the flat. Having a lift was very nice as well (especially with our amount of baggage. We certainly would recommend this flat to anyone wanting to access the Fulham area and still very convenient to Central London.

All communication to arrange the accommodation was done professionally and Mark welcomed us and gave us all the information we required for a great stay in London. Fairly priced for London and close to supermarkets, pubs and the tube.

Was an ideal base for our few days in London

First, the room was not clean. There was a dirty towel hanging in the bathroom, and water and dirty shoe prints on the floor. The windows and door sills were covered in dust and there were stains on the walls and furniture. By American standards, this was comparable to a subpar Motel 6. Also, be aware that "self-catering" doesn't just mean no breakfast included (which is what we assumed when we booked the room). It means no one will clean or tidy your room during your entire stay (we stayed 6 nights). After 3 nights, we went and found the linens in a closet in the hall, changed our own bed sheets, and got some clean towels. On the upside, the location is excellent and the price is decent. The manager was rather nice, when he could be found. As hotels in London are very difficult to find at a decent price, and the location of this particular one is so desirable, we would steer anyone away - just go with low expectations.

We are always sincerely sorry to hear when a guest’s stay has not matched up to their expectations, and as such feel compelled to respond to this review.

We believe if there is something at fault that we should be notified immediately and we will rectify straight away. It is accurate to say we are self catering apartments, and that we service the apartment every seven nights, we can of course for an additional charge, service your studio or apartment at any time, 7 days a week should you wish. we feel that a weekly service is environmentally friendly, and helps us keep our prices competitive, additional service always available at cost.

The majority of our guests are happy with the service we provide and most are delighted with our exceptionally competitive prices, I believe you were paying £79 per night including 20% tax which equates to around £65 per night for 2 persons, this does not include breakfast and no where on our website does it suggest that we do; there are excellent cafes and restaurants within a two minute walk of our apartments, which we are happy to point guests in their direction.

With regards to the wet floor, towel and footprints, I believe that we allowed an early check in as the guest arrived earlier than our normal check in time, and the floor would of just been mopped, when we agree to an earlier than expected check in we always explain that we may not be 100% ready, and it is up to the guest to accept or not, we personally would rather finish, but some guests do travel long distances and are grateful to put their feet up

We have two cleaners here daily, plus me and my son Mark, so if anything is not to your satisfaction we should have been informed and we would have rectified, we generally finish for the day, when everyone is checked in and we have sorted any final details requested.
You did rent our smallest studio and I do believe that everything was as we described on our web site and literature, we do hope that you stay with us again and if you do just raise any concerns and we would be delighted to fix.

We appreciate this review, as these help us improve our operation for the future, and as pointed out, the price and location are excellent for transportation. We take an extreme amount of pride in our apartments, and we have chosen to provide self catering facilities as an option to exorbitant Hotel costs, as I am sure this response and earlier reviews suggest it is a rather good option when visiting London.

My wife Mindy and I relocated to London from USA at the end of March and immediately began our search for somewhere to live. As luck would have it we chanced upon the website for Castletown House Apartments and gave them a call. When we explained our situation to Richard (the proprietor) and his son Mark they were immediately very helpful and we were able to agree to an initial stay of one month at a very reasonable rate. During that time we got to know both Richard and Mark very well and I can honestly say that one could not wish for more pleasant, friendly, and helpful hosts.

Room Tip: All the rooms seemed clean and well fitted out.
