Stayed here recently (July 2013) for three nights. Granted, the hotel is very basic but for the price, what do you expect. The bed was confortable, the staff were helpful. The kitchen downstairs was a huge plus. Fruit, bread, eggs, tea, coffee (instant) milk, cereal. All you need to start your day off. This in itself was a money saver, no need to buy food out until lunchtime.

The area itself is a typica inner city area, nothing great but you're not staying here for the location, you're here to save money. The tube station is a few minutes walk away, another plus.

I initially had my doubts but I'd stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for a rom in the back, a bit quieter.

We spent several nights here. No complaints - hotel is close to Tube/DLR/Bus, our room was perfectly clean and "fresh", luckily we were in good shape because in was a hike up to our room (with part of the journey on an outdoor staircase), good WiFi connection, felt very safe. Cheap and basic, just fine for a place to crash after a day of sightseeing - great if you want to save some money on a room so you can use it for food, drinks, and entertainment!

Stayed for 2 nights with my partner. Room was filthy, dust everywhere, grime on the walls and hairs/stains on the bed. The hotel is not in a very nice area either. Only good points: cash machine next door, tube station is 5 mins away. You could not pay me to stay at this hotel again.

We have just come back from staying two nights at this hotel. If we could have booked into another on and got a refund we would have. The staff on arrival was ok. I understand its a cheap hotel but not matter what you pay you expect it to be clean. When we arrived there was rubbish and dirty sheets all in the hallway rather than just moving the the stuff instantsly. The carpets were all lifting and there was a fusty smell. In the room its basic what you would expect for the price. Although as an extra we had stains all up the walls, broken lamp and hairs on the bed with stained bedding. When we asked for clean bedding they just gave us the sheets and we had to deal with it. The room was so dusty i
ended up using my own wipes to clean the headboard. I would never stay here again as i said its cheap but still with should come clean and it didnt.

Fairly good hotel for someone who travels at a low budget. It is a 5-minute walk from the Bow Road underground station and it is right next to the Bow Church DLR train station. Plus, there is a bus stop right outside where various buses from and to the city of London stop. The hotel staff are nice (although a bit bored at times) and our room was cleaned every day (just the basic cleaning, though). One major disadvantage is the area where it is located as it is not one of the best in London and it is a bit far from the city centre. However, there are many means of transport to choose from and to the city centre. I think the pictures of the hotel can be deceiving and that you can find better hotels in London at the same low prices.
