“Still the best place to stay in London”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 29, 2011

We have recently returned from another fabulous stay with Julia at Number 37 - a quiet little oasis in the centre of Greenwich, right next door to Greenwich Park and a short walk from the DLR station. It is so handy for getting into the centre of London - you are there in 20 minutes, it is perfect. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in London and we have already booked again for next year.

Julia really is the perfect hostess - her home is beautiful (the Garden Room is a really delightful room to stay in, plenty of room and beautifully decorated), she is very welcoming yet doesn't intrude and provides the most fabulous breakfasts. The homemade muesli is really yummy and the cooked breakfasts are very, very tasty and just the right size. And the coffee and biscuits on arrival were much appreciated!!

Greenwich is a lovely place to stay, being so close to the centre of London yet it feels like its a world away. There is so much to do, from walking around Greenwich Park, visiting the Royal Observatory and getting an amazing panoramic view of London from near the Observatory - worth the walk u[p the hill! Then there is the fabulous Market, where you could spend a fortune, well worth a visit.

This was our 3rd visit to Number 37 and we hope to stay many more times - so please don't stop doing b&b Julia!

It's been said in all the other reviews here - Julia is the perfect hostess and offers the sort of B&B that you wish you could find everywhere. Number 37 is clean and very comfortable; the homemade food is excellent; and Julia is attentive and helpful. Has to be the B&B of choice in London.

I arrived from Australia very tired and worn out from the flight. Finding my way from Heathrow to Greenwich by train(s) was surprisingly easy and quick. My room at No. 37 was comfortable and clean and I quickly recovered from the journey. Julia was a font of information about how to get around London and Greenwich was the perfect base. Plenty of good pubs and a variety of restaurants I enjoyed coming back to Greenwich each evening. No. 37 was the perfect haven for a 55 year old man travelling alone. My 4 nights there were perfect then reluctantly I moved on. Julia is the perfect host and her B&B feels like a home. Great breakfast, excellent room, affordable and good location for exploring London

From the moment we arrived to much needed tea/coffee and cake, we were made to feel very welcome. The ensuite Garden room was very clean and subtly decorated, there was a bookcase bursting with books we wish we'd had time to read, and there were patio doors to a small private garden with an abundance of plants, including a grape vine. Julia provided us with a great choice at breakfast, yoghurt, muesli (some of it home-made) and a "full English" which set us up for the day - very meaty, tasty sausages, bacon, egg, beans, mushrooms and tomatoes. Toast with jam made by a friend of hers followed with large pots of tea and coffee - we certainly didn't need lunch! The area is quiet and safe, a few minutes walk from Greenwich Market, Theatre, the Fan Museum, Greenwich Park, Maritime Museum, etc and only about 5 minutes walk to the DLR or Greenwich Pier. Lots of good places to eat in the evening and Julia and Steve were very helpful in recommending places to try. Well worth staying and no hesitation in giving a good review. Lovely hosts, lovely house, lovely area.

Room Tip: Only two letting rooms - the Garden room is the one with the ensuite.

Julia goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. The breakfast is excellent (lovely coffee!) as well as the service. Everything is spotless and very tastefully decorated. We'll be back when we next visit London!
It's not cheap but worth every penny :-)

In Greenwich (a very safe area) in a quiet street, but very central. Loads to see in Greenwich. Easy to get into central London - we did it by boat!

Marvelous B&B with two rooms, one for three persons (couple&child) and one for two persons (couple). The rooms are lovely furnished and there is a cute small garden on the back side of the house. You get a delicious breakfast and Julia and Steve, the owners, are adorable and caring.
We definitely will come back, when we are in London next time.

The B&B ist located very central: Just 5min to Greenwich city center, 5min to Greenwich station where you can go by train to central London in about 15min.

I stayed at number 37 for two nights with my sister on our trip to see Barry Manilow at the O2, I really cant say enough about number 37, the garden room was lovely, clean, with a wonderful wee garden all for yourself, sitting amongest Julia and Steves beautiful plants was relaxing and truly added to our break experience, taking the boat to the 02 was far the best way I have ever travelled to the 02. Julia and Steve are geniunely nice people and enjoyed meeting them and staying in their wonderful B&B, breakfast was most enjoyable and served with such warmth it all add to making our trip more special.
We loved sweep the dog also. We went to Greenwich theatre on our second night and experienced a wonderful show which by the way is mins from number 37, also the cinema is mins to, Greenwich is a wonderful place to stay vabriant and friendly the market was great, try the thai curry stall we had a green thai curry took it to the park and sat in the sun it was one of the nicest green curries I have tasted, we also went to the maritine museum and the Queens house which is mins walk from numbe 37 worth a visit. I will defo visit Julia and Steves wonderful B&B again in a wonderful location away from the usual madness of London but with easy reach by boat or train or bus to the centre of London. Parking my car was easy and cheap Julia gave me a guest ticket £2.50 a day £1.50 half day.

Room Tip: Garden room was heavenly
