Excellent Travel lodge would definately stay there again, really close to Southwark tube station. Situated in a nice area although close to train tracks we never heard any trains. Carlos's kitchen next door well worth a visit also.

Unfortunately, air con didn’t work, windows were locked and they couldn’t open them. This meant unbearably stifling in the room so couldn’t sleep for the two nights we stayed. We did change rooms once and were offered to change again but couldn’t see the point as we knew of two other rooms when air con switched itself off after 1 minute!!!!! A pity as this was a great location and the staff were lovely.

My partner and I stayed in a family room here back in early December. The location is great ,a 5 minute straight walk from Southwark station. There are lots of places to eat and drink around the hotel. We didn't go to The Lord Nelson opposite because of time however we heard that it was definately a place to visit. There is a tesco express and a sainsburys local nearby and a newsagents/ off licence right outside. When we checked in the staff were friendly and efficient. The bar staff were always happy to supply us with glasses and ice for our room at night and even bought up a champagne bucket and ice at the exact time we requested on the night of our anniversairy which was lovely. We did not eat in the hotel so cannot comment on the food. Check out was very good and quick. We would definately go back here. Basic but everything we needed for a busy week of exploring London.

Well done Travelodge. Usually against corporate chains but in Travelodge the reception staff seem to have been picked for their helpfulness and friendliness. Room was basic, but clean. Asked for iron, provided instantly. Room comfy but all that was needed. People made the difference. At £177 it was probably expensive, but that's London for you!

If you have to book a corporate chain hotel then for one night with no luxury, at that end of the market Travelodge gets my vote.

Room Tip: at the back, away from Union Street

Stayed with my girlfriend for 3 nights over a weekend, the location of the hotel is perfect, walking distance to a lot of the sights, also 2 min walk from the Jubille underground station. The rooms are small but clean, I would not recommend the food which we had the first night there and was very basic and bland. Only other complaint is one of the two lifts in this seven storey building was not working for our entire stay which was an inconvenience as we stayed on the 4th floor.

Perfect Hotel if you intend to sight see during the day and enjoy a night out after!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 402 which had the railway tracks outside window but at night neither of us could h...

I arrived at 10pm I was greeted by a very pleasant young man I asked for a loan of hairdryer which was given with a pleasant of course no problem, He directed me to my room what a lovely surprise I do use southwark regularly as I have always found it good but it has been upgraded with new beds and they are superb the bathrooms have always been very good and still are the air conditioning is first class, the room was the same, the location is fine the underground is at the top of the road 5 minutes walk the buses the same, I have had breakfast and evening meals before and both have been fine. question what did I like best answer everything, the only thing I will say is there is no drawers and a small rail to hang clothes on,that doesn't bother me as there is plenty of room on the floor for your sutcases
