The service did not live up to the quality of the food - not that it was slack or inefficient, just brusque verging onto surliness. But then, when you actually chatted to the waitresses, as we did about an unusual orchid on the bar counter, there was a spark of interest and personality and even a smile. It is just so different though from what you expect in a Thai restaurant. Anyway, the food was great - softshell crab as a starter, thai special sizzling lamb and thai green curry, all fresh and delicious as were the accompanying noodles ! Special mention for the New Zealand white -Cloudy Factory _ Wow ! That was very very good and worth, as a treat, the £25. if you don't fancy that then there is wine by the glass and thai beer. Several diners were just having one course and a beer so with a price range of £15-30+ the restaurant attracts a cosmopolitan mix of diners having a main meal or just popping in en route to other attractions ! Tip - the pub opposite is worth a visit, friendly with a good selection of beers and pie n mash or eels as well as other very reasonably priced fresh cooked pub food if you don't fancy the Thai !
