“OK for the price - good location but noisy room”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

You get what you pay for at this hotel - the room was actually quite nice as was the bathroom. The location opposite both Kings Cross and St Pancras is great. We stayed in the Lower Ground room - which was small and it seemed very close to the underground! From early in the morning the noise of the underground can be heard in the room - so request a higher floor.

Room Tip: Don't have a Lower Ground floor - very noisy!

Arrived at short notice before a predicted snow storm forced us into London a day early prior to a Eurostar trip to the alps. Given the 'keys' to room 109 just about on the first floor (no lift by the way). It dawned on us very quickly that the room had not been serviced - the covers had been thrown over the bed but an old newspaper on the side and no soap in the bathroom gave it away. On inspecting the bed, found it crumpled under the quilt and hairs still in the bed - yuk!

Spoke to reception who sent two different staff to check and then gave us key to room 111 which was much fresher and had been made up. Reception confirmed 109 had been 'missed' but not sure if this was a genuine accident or a cost cutting exercise by the hotel.

The rooms are small and basic. Cheap laminate flooring with a small double and a single in the room. Tea tray and a decent hairdryer which was a bonus. Bathrooms very nice with a rainfall shower. Watch your head on the flat screen TV that hangs from the wall around the room corner!

The biggie here is the traffic noise and the sound of the underground until very late. The slight vibration here might soothe some to sleep but not me. Even with the room being on the side street the entrance is actually on (don't do what we did and look for the entrance on the Euston Road as per the address - it's not there) it is still loud and sleep disruptive.

Breakfast cannot even be described as continental. Stale bread, ham & cheese - and that was it as far as food went.

All in all, not great. A place to lay your head but for a small amount more, try the Premiere Inn just up the road - so much better!

Room Tip: Sorry, I have none....................................

We (2 adults and a teenager) had a room on the first floor. The room was small but the bathroom was quite nice. We only needed a place to sleep so the size of the room wasn't that important but I do think that it was a bit too expensive considering the quality of the room even though it's conveniently placed just across the street from King's Cross St. Pancras. The trains could be felt as well as heard on the first floor so I would not have accepted a room in the basement.
Breakfast was better than expected.

At fist glance the hotel may look clean, modern, secure etc. For our stay we booked a 6 person room single beds (which was on the booking area). upon arriving we only got 4 singles and a sofa bed. Throughout the whole duration of the stay we were promised an extra bed everyday we complained but nothing happened and they just said they were fully booked and couldn't do anything. What hit me most is that we had two adults on this almost single sized painfully thin sofa bed and they couldn't even give us an extra duvet and claimed they had no extras. The corridors are minuscule, and the sound of the tube is so loud beneath us. the breakfast was terrible. List is endless, do not BOOK. I may have had a bad experience but the reality is that the staff are unwelcoming and never help even for the smallest of problems such as an extra duvet. PLEASE AVOID!!!

The hotel was Perfectly situated with the 5 of us all travelling into St Pancras from different parts of the country. Very clean (looked newly refurbed) with helpful staff. Keenly priced for our one night stay and would deffinately use again. My room was downstairs at basement level and the rumble of tube trains was somewhat of an irritation in the early hours after a late night. Also situated near the restaurant, so some noise from guests going down or breakfast. Fast and efficient check in and check out and lthough our rooms weren't ready, we were allowed to change in a room and our bags safely stored until out return. We would ave preferred an English breakfast option, so skipped the breakfast.

While this is listed as a three star that is a stretch The location is very convent to the Kings Cross station and St Pances , while for the most part I found the hotel to be generally clean and the staff friendly there are a number of aspects that guarantee I would never return. These range from the need to run the in-room AC/heat unit consistently in order to provide white noise to drowned out the sound of the Tube Northern Line which apparently runs under the hotel causing the windows to rattle and walls to shake. When I stayed in October 2012 the breakfast was abysmal, while I understand they are in construction of their Bar/Restaurant that should improve the situation I am afraid that will just add the general nose level which keeps one awake at night. The in room services are basic, great at changing our your towels, but don't expect anything more, one evening my bathroom floor was worse than when I left that morning. Lastly of the 6 night I stayed at the King Cross Inn Hotel they managed to set the fire alarm off 4 of the six morning, one morning three times. My suspicion is this was a result of trying to serve breakfast in a makeshift dining room.

Room Tip: If you do stay here, make sure you get a room not on the first floor.

The only good thing about this place is the fact that it is cheap and located right next to euston and other major train and tube stations. To begin with the staff where very unfriendly and made myself and 3 friends feel very uncomfortable! There was no record of our reservation when we arrived and had to wait 15 minutes to get greeted- with that no apology! The room was fairly clean! However broken locks on door and bathroom door! Maybe they should consider the safety of there customers as you could easily walk on and out of rooms! Lights going off and on in the middle of the night so I decided to go and see what was going on- on doing do I opened my bedroom door only to set an alarm off, first and last hotel I stay in whereby an alarm is sounded when I open my bedroom door. Checked out of hotel in early hours after deciding that we were not sleeping there- highly recommend premiere inn just across the road, checked in late there and the staff couldn't have been more welcoming
