Fantastic food, excellent service and reasonable value. Much better than Hakasan. We were staying at the royal garden hotel so decided to try this out but wasn't holding out much hope. It blew us both away with exciting Chinese food. Can't believe we haven't been before.

The view is stunning. The dim sum irresistible. The service though reminds me of China - without any frills but efficient. All in all, a great place for a weekend brunch.

One of the best views you will get in London. Wonderful dining room, with plunging views over Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park beyond. Very good Chinese food, in a classy and refined setting and ambience. Expensive by Chinese food standards, but you get what you paid for, including the view.

Having a birthday on Halloween is a lifetime misery. Reaching adulthood the jokes about witches are wearing thin and one becomes sick of Pumpkin Pie as Birthday cake and Crysanthemums which at any other time are lovely, are almost macabre and boring as a bouquet. So I choose, like the Queen, to have another day, close by as a "birthday".

The outing to Min Jiang was just such an occasion, taking advantage of a trip to London and the chance to see the superb fireworks displays around London on Bon Fire night we booked into Min Jiang on the 10th Floor of the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington. The weather was clear and gave a magnificent view across the Gardens right across London, a delight in itself.

Min Jiang is an extremely elegant restaurant with Chinese red walls and a fabulous collection of blue and white pottery and porcelain. The staff are all very discreet and well mannered and offer impeccable service.

We chose the Dim Sum and the legendary wood fired Duck (which is NOT crispy duck for those not wishing to be disappointed) and it was served with two delicious sauces. It is highly recommended to pre-order the Duck as it is a firm favourite on the menu and is cut and served at your table, personally by the Min Jiang chef. All vegetables came fresh and crunchy, steamed to perfection.

A very thoughtful touch which was well appreciated was the "Chinese Cookie" type cookies that arrived decorated with "Happy Birthday" and a sensible single candle, so no embarrassing charades.

A good choice of wines and cocktails is also offered.

If you ever find yourself on High Street Kensington, London and you want to treat yourself with a luxury Chinese food overlooking Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens, do visit Min Jiang. We regular visit this place if we want to treat our business partners and they always enjoy it. Do try the legendary wood-fired Beijing Duck! I'd also highly recommend the delicacy dip crispy duck skin in fine granulated sugar, which is not very good for your diet but amazing for your pallet. Another interesting vegetarian dish is asparagus with lotus root and black pepper - amazing. I\d highly recommend to try something that you never had before - all on the menu is excellent. The service is very attentive and friendly and would offer you great combinations - just ask if you don't know where to start from.
