Our visit got off to a wobbly start when I rested a hand on the table and it lurched drunkenly to one side - the lurch being so pronounced we decided not to have a go at curing the problem ourselves with a folded up beermat. Yet that's exactly what the waitress did when we pointed out the problem - she spent a good five minutes trying to level the table, something she gets a lot of practice at judging by the packing at the feet of all the tables around us!
It was a mid-week evening and the place was maybe half full - but it took a good 15 minutes before our drinks arrived, and at least another 30 minutes before our meals arrived. Both the drinks and the food were well worth waiting for, however, and we rather liked the overall laid-back atmosphere of the pub. Just don't go there on a busy night if you're hungry!
