Had a great Sunday lunch at pub in Muswell Hill. Service was very good. Attentive without being over attentive. Had the Roast beef which was excellent. Not overdone like you get in most pubs. Weather was good so sat outside. Sporting pictures on the outside and Kinks pictures inside. Will go again.

Let's just say that the attitude of the staff- I can only inagine it is the owner or manager- is a disgrace and it is a wonder that any business that talks to their customers in the manner I have experienced is still trading. What a pity, this place now has a reputation that preceeds it for all the wrong reasons.

To say this place has been taken down market is an understatement. The front bar, previously a stylish, laid back room with lovely sofas, great lighting etc has become a function room for multiple hen nights. Cheap tables covered with cloths and a coarse, 'function room' feel to the place. The back room is similarly bedecked - fairy lights completing the look. There's cheap piped music, blackboards with a 'Wetherspoons' type vibe to it all. It's as if the owners don't know what to do next and are trying every conceivable selling angle to get punters in. Unfortunately, it will make the previous bread and butter clientele stay away in droves. On sitting down, you're greeted with a sad little plate of crudites and a pot of hummus, a basket of bread and olive oils, balsamic etc. What the heck is that all about? It's not 1986 and frankly, after grazing on that lot - even though it was revolting, who is going to need a starter? Salt and pepper squid was actually very good but a chicken and avocado salad was pretty hard work - digging through the leaves looking for chicken or avocado was exhausting. Lamb chops looked oily and over cooked. Depressing really - you had to fight your way to the loo through the throngs of hen parties wearing paper hats - it was like a scene from a Mike Leigh film. What an absolute crying waste of a good pub. Someone buy it quick and turn it back into what it was before? Appalling place.

We were shown to a table right by the kitchen next to another couple despite it being quite empty.
The food was extremely overpriced and mainly consisted of lettuce leaves. I was a bit revolted by the hot chicken salad with Parmesan grated on top.
The music playing was mainly hits from the early 80s.
The staff we friendly but that is the best I can say.
Definitely never going back.

Left with a bad taste in our mouth! Tempura prawns are better from m and s - they were frozen rubbish. Walnut and goats cheese salad all leaves no cheese and nuts, very stingy! Not asked once if we enjoyed our meal, obviously they know no one is so don't ask! All served in a rush and no thank you when they took our £65! This pub is all hype no substance, don't bother
