Best Western Palm Hotel
Ranked #537 of 1,075 Hotels in London
Reviewed September 14, 2012

One of the bottom end places of the Best Western franchise, the Palm Hotel offers decent, clean and comfortable rooms of a reasonable size.

Was a bit concerned about the A41, Hendon Way being outside the room, but the double glazing muted it to a faint murmer. Also, the worry about the lack of opening windows was alleviated by an air conditioning system that actually worked!!

Average to reasonable breakfast, the main drawback was the lack of a decent bar. In the mood for a Laphroig or Talisker, asking what single malt whiskys they had and being offered Bell's or Jack Daniel's was a bit of a let down!

But all in all a reasonable place to stay.

Room Tip: Try to get one away from the A41.

When we arrived we parked on the off street parking even though there was plenty of room to park at the front.
We were quickly and so helpfully processed. We made out way up to the room and once we got there was pleasantly surprised. We paid for the cheapest price but our room was large, spacious and absolutely perfect.
Having only stayed in 2 hotels ever in my life, I didn't know what to expect. I researched it all based on cleanliness and this hotel came up with the best rating and I totally agree. The tv was massive, the bed was nearly perfect (minus the 2 book lights.. they only worked if the larger pretty light around the bed was turned on) and everything was clean apart from (no more than 10) scuff marks on the wall... but that's to be expected
All in all a lovely hotel. Just a bit of a walk from the tube station as we didn't want to get the bus.
Going to London again soon and we are looking at going there again.

Stayed Saturday night (room only) to move daughter starting college, so needed somewhere with parking at the last minute. Room (117) was comfortable and a good size and looked to be recently decorated. There was only one window with a handle but fortunately the handle was loose so could be used on all the windows!! Otherwise everything worked. Room was behind lift but there was no noise. There was a bah mitzvah celebration directly beneath us and the children were very noisy, but we heard nothing from our room. Bathroom looked to be recently refurbished. It was a little dark as one of the lights was obscured by the shower head. Shower controls rather stiff and the water was very hot. Reception was quick and pleasant.

Stayed for a business stay last week, whilst working in London. Back of hotel under refurbishment at the moment. . I stayed in 206, Really lovely, very new, modern. Lovely bathroom, great shower.
Reception staff were brilliant, really friendly.
Restaurant a bit bland and basic, only me in there. Usedf their reception lounge to carry out interviews, great.
Food, ok very reasonable, but not wow. Service brilliant

I was that impressed I have booked a room for a meeting, very reasonable and another overnight stay for 11th Sept.

Our triple room was large with disabled facilities, which would be great for wheelchair users, however for the unexperienced able bodied I managed to flood the bathroom with the open shower, stuggled to get onto the high seat loo and couldnt fill the kettle with the small low sink! The staff were nice and freindly but it was a shame that refurbishment was going on so the bar and resteraunt were shut. We needed a taxi to get to the nearest underground and bus station which was necessary due to lack of shops, bars and dining in the area

We stayed whilst visiting London for the Olympics. The hotel is easy to find and, though it is by a main road, noise isn't a problem, even on the side facing the road. The staff were very polite and helpful. Rooms were good size and well appointed, having recently been refurbished. We slept well and loved the shower which had plenty of hot water. Recommended.

We had a triple room made up of a double room, a single room with en-suite and a jonining shower room, all decorated to a high standard. Everything was clean and tidy. Breakfast was excellent. Although the location is a few miles away from the main attractions it is easy to get down into the city on either the tube from Golders Green, which is a 10 minute walk away or the buses which stop just up the road. The only downside was that there was some noise at night from the main road but this wouldn't put us off staying again. This was good value for money.
