“First time visitor to London”
Reviewed August 17, 2013

Stayed at The Beauchamp from July 18-21, 2013.

Beautiful foyer area. Nice, helpful staff. Not overly friendly, but the Beauchamp doesn't feel like a family owned place so it was an appropriate attitude. They do go out of their way to help you; hailing cabs, carrying bags and such. The elevator was large by European standards so bags going up stairs went pretty easily. The room was exactly what I expected in London. Smallish, nice closet, a safe. Blackout blinds were awesome for the early sun rise of London. The only two complaints would be that the tub/shower had an awkwardly tall step up into it and there was no fridge in the room. The room was exceptionally quiet. The air conditioning blew cold, the tv worked great and I even got to watch Family Guy every night at 11 on BBC 3.

The Beauchamp is located on a quiet side street (both ends of the street area a park so no one comes down the street), 3 minute walk from British Museum and 10 from the British Library and St. Pancras train station. It is also located about 7 minute walk from the major pub area of Fitzrovia and just generally close to Camden. If you intend to spend your time in these areas, Beauchamp is literally the best hotel you can stay in. It also sits on the Picadilly Line (the most tourist friendly Underground Line) with 2 stops very near the hotel.

If you plan to spend the majority of your time at Westminster, Parliament, or the South Bank, it can be a walk. Use the Underground, but if you can afford it, there are probably closer options. Not knocking the Beauchamp, it just cant be wildly close to everything.

Room Tip: It would appear that the higher the better just due to any street noise that could potentially be pr...

We booked our room months in advance only to be told on arrival that they had no rooms available and they had to move us to their "sister" hotel (which, of course, wasn't as good). What we think they do is overbook this hotel and then redistribute guests to their "sister" hotels. Be warned!!

Wanted somewhere convenient to Covent Garden which was reasonably priced, so opted for a standard double room here booked via booking.com. Really easy walk from St Pancras or Euston Square, and the area around the hotel was quiet and pleasant.

Bit nervous when we were told our room was on the lower ground floor, but actually it was quite spacious (for London anyway), it was a little dark but probably a better option than ground floor as we could have the curtains open without people looking directly in as we were below their feet! Most importantly it had A/C in the room - not needed all that often in the UK but we were so grateful for it as it was a very hot weekend.

Didn't eat breakfast so can't comment - the price was enough to put us off as there are plenty of places to eat in walking distance. Wifi is painfully expensive but that seems standard for this type of hotel in London.

Stayed at the Beauchamp in the end of June. First visit to London so I wasn't sure what to expect. Wow, was I wonderfully surprised. The hotel is on a quiet street but just 1 block away from restaurants, a park, bus station and the British Museum. The room was immaculate and spacious and nicely decorated. The bed was a little hard but I found that to be same in most European hotels. The staff was very helpful. Gabor went out of his way to make sure our stay was pleasant.
If I had to find a negative comment it would be that there is a surcharge for wi-fi. Other than that I can not fault this lovely hotel. We did not eat at the restaurant but saw many guests heading for dinner there. If you are looking for a clean, quiet place close to attractions I would not hesitate to stay at the Beauchamp.

This hotel is great, just around the corner from Russell Square/Oxford Street and you're never too far from a tube station. Great location!
If you enjoy the open top bus tours one stops right outside to pick you up.
The rooms were a decent size, comfortable and clean. Bathroom as well was exceptional, we had a bath and shower, I only have to assume the rooms are similiar.

Would definitely stay here again.

Convenient location on a quiet street. Lovely boutique hotel. Front desk staff not very well informed but door men served as knowledgeable concierge, able to answer questions about how to get from place to place, etc. Nice, spacious room overlooking large, beautiful, quiet courtyard.

The Beauchamp is located near Russel Square from where it is about 10 minutes to the heart of London and 20 minutes to South Krnsington.

The hotel was recently renovated. Some important things were left out, e.g. the bathtubes or the windows.

However, the ambience in the hotel is pleasant and the surroundings are quiet. This guarantees a good night sleep.

Request a room on the upper floor, otherwise the stay gets unpleasant.

Worth to finally mention is the breakfast, which is very nice and served in a relaxing atmosphere.

Overall I would say if one can get a Superior Room for about 150 to 160 Pounds it's worth to book. If the price is higher one could probably find a more decent alternative.
