Description: Our bakery, café and restaurant at 29 Bedford Street was the first branch of PAUL in the UK and is just behind the beautiful St. Paul's Church, designed by Inigo Jones and consecrated in 1638. Bedford Street was originally built between 1633 and 1640 and runs north from The Strand to King Street. You will find PAUL almost on the corner of King Street in the heart of Covent Garden, just a few minutes' walk from the Piazza (a building dating from the 1830s) with its busy markets and eclectic boutiques, as well as the Royal Opera House, The London Transport Museum, The London Coliseum, Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square, The Strand and Drury Lane, making us the perfect destination for visitors, opera buffs, balletomanes and theatre goers alike. Tucked away behind our bustling bakery with its fabulous selection of bread baked daily on site, you will find one of the two London branches of Le Restaurant de PAUL, offering all-day French brasserie-style dining. Our French restaurant has an unmistakably Parisian look that combines the contemporary with the classic. Three large 19th Century murals are complemented by soft grey coloured banquettes and plush teal seating. Industrial style ceiling lamps and stone floor tiles to the rear of the restaurant complete an intimate and stylish dining environment. Open for breakfast, brunch, lunch, a splendid afternoon tea and dinner, or just for coffee or tea and a delicious croissant, cake, éclair or slice of fruit tart, we also have a pre-theatre supper set menu served from 5.30 pm so you won't miss the show. Closest stations are Leicester Square (Piccadilly Line, Northern Line), Covent Garden (Piccadilly Line) Embankment (Northern, Circle, District and Bakerloo Lines) and Charing Cross (Northern Line, Bakerloo Line and national rail services). 64 seats are available. Disabled access available. Free Wi-fi.

“Great place for breakfast.”
Reviewed November 24, 2013

We ate here almost every day for breakfast. The yogurt is creamy and delicious, and the croissants are flaky and moist. I had the same thing every day because it (the yogurt) was so good, but my friends experimented with the menu and enjoyed each meal.

Delicious morsels in a cozy and inviting atmosphere.
Could do without paying extra to 'eat in' heck - I make you look busy!! You should pay me!!
But all in all..a lovely find.

“You may have to wait, trust me, it's worth it...”
Reviewed November 19, 2013

We visited this artisan bakery on the back of some good TA reviews for a late lunch and joined the queue for a table while watching some heavenly cakes being served in the 'take away' section of the shop. The service, menu and food presented were all first class and you can easily appreciate the extra quality that this little patisserie offers. It's just off Covent Garden Market, seek it out and even if you don't wait for a table you can always enjoy the display in the window. Pure pastry pleasure...

“Meeting up with friends”
Reviewed November 11, 2013

Last Saturday we caught up with two friends in Covent garden, the weather was poor so we looked for somewhere nice for coffee. Fortunately we came across Paul - what a find. Quite a bit of space inside, we managed to get a nice table right next to where the pastries and other goodies were being baked! The smells were very mouth watering so nice to see how their fare was cooked!
Coffee was of good quality and we choose one of their "baskets" of pastries - great decision - two pastries, croissant, bread, butter and jam- super value at £4.95!
Even though busy we never felt squashed in or restricted we stayed for around 90 minutes and enjoyed every minute

“Good breakfast in this artisan bakery”
Reviewed October 12, 2013

First I was doubting whether the breakfast would be good in here, after all it is a bakery not a restaurant, but I was wrong. There is quite a big room for breakfast and this bakery provides everything for a good breakfast. But the most important: it was very (very, very) tasty! The staff is friendly, polite and professional. Maybe they could be a little more personal, a conversation in the morning with a smiling waitress (or waiter) is something I missed, oh and I didn't liked the basic table set up.
