Wanted to share this as the coffee and croissants are just so good, and the atmosphere and staff are very warm and welcoming - this really feels like a local gem.

This will be vitriolic as I am very hungry and Nathan's are better when fed.
This branch of a national chain seemed staffed by girls who didn't know what they were doing, were wholly unmanaged and had no language in common with each other or their customers.
I asked for a strong cappuccino - it came standard. They then broke the coffee machine so my husband couldn't have one. The restaurant wasn't full but his hot chocolate took 15 minutes. We ordered cheese and tomato croissants - we could see them, they just needed heating, what could go wrong? We checked: blank looks. We ordered again (different waitress, new language barrier) we waited. We checked again. "It's coming, there's a queue" was the explanation. It didn't. We waited. Wow! Cutlery! And then they brought a ham sandwich and a mushroom croissant. They said it was because the coffee machine was broken. I found it incomprehensible too. We left. I'm starving and cross.

We picked up the most delicious sandwiches from Maison Blanc and headed to the park up the road for a picnic. They were heated up for us and the bread had to have been baked that morning, it was so fresh. I had the brie and salami on baguette and ate every bite! My son enjoyed his ham and cheese and then had a cupcake, which was good. Great, friendly service behind the counter and delicious food. We'll be back soon.
