Description: Founded in 1966 and hidden in a quiet mews off Queensway, we offer fantastic authentic Greek food with a warm welcome and friendly service. Over the years we have had many famous people regularly dine here including the Beatles, Peter Sellers and his friends, racing drivers Graham and Damon Hill, also many actors and actresses, such as Telly Savalas (Kojak), Faye Dunaway, Irene Pappas, Mick Jagger and many other well-known names of the 60’s, 70’s and the present day. But it is not just the stars; many people have always loved dining here: members of the local, international and Greek Bayswater communities, as well as students and tourists who visit London. They all like the friendly and informal atmosphere and the healthy Greek food. We invite you to join us and carry on the glorious tradition of Kalamaras.

My mum had the moussaka which she said was one of the best she had had outside Greece. The kleftico was delicious.

The food here is genuine, delicious and very Greek. Lovely moussaka, you can also have a vegetarian option, fish and souvlaki. Nice and friendly atmosphere, the manager and staff are friendly and welcoming. Higly recommended!

Tripadvisor reviews suggested this would be good - and it was excellent. We both had a mixture of chicken and lamb souvlaki - both beautifully tender and tasty - as recommended by the welcoming and theatrical George. There were plenty of dishes we'd have liked to try, but this was a great choice.
There weren't any desserts that we fancied, but it didn't matter (if we'd been hungrier we'd have had a starter). A very good evening

I bumped into this very cute and a bit off-road greek tavern just before Christmas with a couple of friends and we promised to each other we would pay a visit very soon. We then went for a girlies dinner just shortly afterwards and, after living six years in London, being a great lover of Greece and greek food, I can finally say "I found a great authentic taverna!". I rarely found such great, fresh and authentic food and here you can have all of this, plus a great variety of choices.
In addition to this, but not least, you will be amazed and cuddled by the most smiling, welcoming host you could dream of: George. His never less than excellent service together with his warmth will transport you in the a real greek world.
The price is absolutely reasonable for the quality of meals you will be served, try the octopus as this will blow your mind. They also serve a really enjoyable greek wine (I secured a bottled with their next order as it is delicious), I believe the name was Samos.
The restaurant is in a very central location, 1 min from Bayswater tube station and less than 5 from Queensway. In the middle of a Greek area.
Not to miss it!!!

My daughter and I travelled from Australia to London and were lucky enough to be staying near this wonderful, intimate Greek restaurant. George the host is wonderful. He epitomises what Greeks know as filotimia - the art of hospitality.
The food is fresh, plentiful and promptly served. I strongly recommend that you visit this iconic restaurant.
