I have dined at Baracca a number of times now You can always be assured of a warm cosy atmosphere and a very friendly welcome. This is unique as a family restaurant in the City of London, which provides excellent food (their pasta especially) at sensible prices.

I have been twice in the last few days to this friendly Italian restaurant. The second time with a business dining group who were bored with the same old places, and their prices, in the City!
The food is authentic and good the veal valdostana was first rate as was the milanese with spaghetti. One of our party ate risotto which he enjoyed but he felt it was no more than average. However we all drank well ( 3 bottles of wine for 5 people) and with coffees and a free liquor to finish, the cost was about £25 a head which is good for a restaurant so close to Barbican and Moorgate. Not pretentious, friendly and worth a trip either for lunch or before a show at the Arts Centre. The upstairs seating was quiet when we went which was perfect for us although there was a big party downstairs so they cater for everyone. Worth a visit!

Came here with a friend after movie at Barbican. Food was delicious, i had a rigatoni with mushroom, minced beef in tomato paste and its one of the best pasta ive ever had. Definitely a gem in the hood :)

This restaurant serves Italian standards at good prices. The standard of the food keeps rising and, since the recent decluttering, we can now call the decor retro-chic. The warm welcome and service means there's a fiercely loyal local crowd. It's also probably the best bet for a bite before visiting Barbican Centre.

A great family run restaurant with warm and friendly service. The dishes are authentic Italian and perfectly cooked with a refreshing lack of anything pizza shaped on the menu. Highly recommended, especially if you are visiting the Barbican as it’s just round the corner from the main Silk Street entrance.
