“Over-priced for what we got, not rushing to return”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 19, 2012

Nice enough pub, atmosphere ok but disappointing Christmas menu. Our meals were not all hot and the fish and vegetarian options were quite disappointing. Perhaps at £18 (2 courses) and £23 (3 courses) we expected something more. Everything was edible and the Turkey roast dinner looked worth the fuss - a generous plate with lots of trimmings, but the rest didn't impress. Puddings were ok but nothing spectacular. Service was non-intrusive and everything arrived at the same time (but I think that may explain why some of the dishes weren't hot enough). Pleasant enough atmosphere and far from busy so we could at least easily have conversations.
All in all, our evening was fine and the food wasn't bad but I had higher expectations given the price tag so I went away disappointed.

“Nice food and attitude”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2012

The Landseer is a lovely pub - comfy, nice decor, a pretty good selection of beer, nice pub type food. The only real downfall is the staff. There are definitely some lovely bar staff, but I've also had some horrible service. Ordering a drink from the older guy with a pony tail who looks like he wishes he was dead is torture. He makes me feel like I've put him out so much that I want to apologise at the end of it. We still go there, and if we get a cheerful, friendly member of staff then it's a win, and if not, we try to kill the overgrown emo kids with kindness. It's kind of fun.

“sunday roasts were served virtually cold”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 25, 2012

It's a nice enough pub, especially when the sun is shining. I've not eaten here in ages but thought i would give it a try for sunday lunch yesterday. The food was decent enough, though the potatoes were a poor excuse for roasties (it's so rare for a pub/restaurant to get this right so they're far from alone). No, the main gripe and why i wouldn't have sunday lunch there again was that the food and gravy was lukewarm at best when it arrived. The plate had not been warmed up at all, and maybe it had been sitting on a counter somewhere after being dished up but a few minutes after they arrived both my chicken and my friend's beef dinner had gone completely cold - sloppy!

“Decent pub for a Sunday lunch”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 22, 2012

Decent gastro pub tucked away from the main road, with outside seating facing a small childrens gated park. Great for families, but watch out if you let your children go into the park - there is a gate behind the high curved wall at the far left which you can't see from the outside seating.

It has a very nice light and airy dining area as well as a relaxed pub setting. You can eat at a table in the bar, at the sofas with low tables or in the dining area.

The meals are well presented and taste good, but is a overpriced for the area. The bread selection is great, served with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
