This restaurant is based on Jamie Oliver 15 's idea, all the money made is put back to the restaurant, there is no benefit made, people who are trained there are given a second chance ... it is all for a great cause and is worth having a night there. You can go there for a drink as there is a bar or for food. The building as such is lovely, the painted bricks gives a warm but chic atmosphere. For a Friday night it was not very busy so the service was very attentive. We started with some cocktails, French martinis and red wine. The wine list was ok, but they did not have the wine we wanted to were 'upgraded' for the price of the bottle we wanted as a start. Nice touch to start.
Before ordering our food, we were told that there was no fish left and only one burger for a Friday night a little disappointing as we did book the table at the beginning of the week.
Nevertheless, I had the lemon and vodka salmon fresh and declicious, goat cheese and caramalised onion tarts were very generous on goat portions and fish cakes to die for.
For main, we had the burger with some great chips, the lamb with dauphinoise potatoes which was melting in your mouth, and the angus steak perfectly cooked.
The food was presented very nicely and was very good. Main dishes prices from 9 pounds to 19 pounds extremely reasonnable for the location and the quality of the food we had.
The staff were very friendly and professional. The service is not rushed and we had plenty of time between starters and mains. We will be back!
