Description: Whether you are a fan of the ever-popular Rasa chain or just love authentic Keralan food, you should definitely pay a visit to Rasa Maricham. Tucked away inside a Holiday Inn, you might be surprised to find this little gem just a stones throw from Kings Cross station. The restaurant specialises in dishes from Kerala, the South Indian state sandwiched between the Western Ghat mountains and the Arabian ocean. The menu here is varied and has won numerous recognitions and awards for them. Zagat gives 24 out of 30 for Food and says" Serving “authentic, unusual” Keralan food at “outstanding-value” prices".

“New flavours!”
Reviewed September 8, 2013 via mobile

I have to begin with the only negative side to our excellent meal. The room in the Holiday Inn in which Rasa Maricham serve their very tasty fare obviously must double up as the hotel breakfast buffet dining area. There was no atmosphere unfortunately, although this had no bearing on the food. The recipes are Kerala based, lots of coconut, hot curries with a certain degree of sweetness. All extremely tasty. Our friend was celebrating his birthday and the manager had decorated the table and produced a little sweetmeat at the end with a candle. Very nice touch. We did dine in another of their restaurants about 30 years ago! Rasa W1 in Dering Street. It was very good then we remembered. We are visiting Kerala in January, so watch this space!

“Tasty and not the typical Indian dishes”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

It's been a while since we've been to an Indian restaurant in London. We were quite pleased with Rasa. Most of the dishes were unique (to our extensive American experience) and quite tasty. Spicy was just right....not sweating. The sambar for the dosa was some of the best we've had in a long time. A number of meat and veg curries to choose from, as well as a few dosas (maybe not as many as we expected to see). We had two different chicken curries - you could tell the sauces were freshly prepared, and each was unique from the other. It was a shame it wasn't more crowded on a Wednesday night....the lobby restaurant was busy, but this was virtually empty - they sure didn't know what they were missing!

“A lovely restaurant”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

Staying in kings cross I was looking for a good place to eat. I found this place on tripadvisor & I was extremely pleased I did. Strange to find it in a holiday inn but hey ho.
The staff were very pleasant & most accommodating. The food was different from the usual indian restaurants I have tried before. It was splendid & refreshing. The clever use of spices was evident & the food was superb. If you fancy something different give this place a go, you won't be disappointed.

“Fantastic family dining experience”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

We were staying at the holiday inn in Kings Cross and the main restaurant was full so the waiter recommended we try the Indian restaurant within the hotel we weren't aware of the restaurant as it was hidden away! but so glad we did try it as the food was fantastic really fresh and as it is southern Indian cuisine it had a slightly different twist and was very flavoursome would highly recommend. The waiter we had helped the children choose the milder dishes overall lovely experience.

“spicy”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

I've been here a few times and would highly recommended it for people who want authentic south indian food. The food is on the spicy side and extremely tasty. Every dish has a unique flavour unlike lesser "Indian" restaurant where everything tastes like it's been made from the same sauce base. However, it might be challenging to order the right dishes if you aren't already familiar with the food. I've always gone with friends who speak the language and had help deciphering the menu.
