Description: "Numero Uno is possibly Clapham's number one Italian restaurant. Situated on fashionable Northcote Road, in the week it is favoured by local suits, but at the weekends the whole family decamp to this great neighbourhood Italian. What's cooking? Risotto or homemade noodles with white truffle, fresh homemade pasta filled with ricotta cheese and spinach with walnut sauce, spaghetti with fresh lobster, pasta with wild boar sauce."

Been going to Numer Uno since the summer and have to say that the food is excellent!
I've not had a bad meal yet and been there a lot now. I'm slowly eating my way thru the menu and so far its all good, good, good.
I think the waiter is as old as my dad (thats very old!) and I'm not sure if he even speaks English, but very professional and unique. If your'e in the area you won't find a better place to eat. Oh, and reasonably priced as well, so a real gem of a place. If you take a girl on a date here and don't get lucky later then you never will, lol.
Just make sure you pay for parking and don't let the ticket expire! Wardens here are total b******s! I was 2 minutes over on the hour and got a £35 fine. Seems they check the times, make a note and come back to start writing as it is about to time out. Don't even bother trying to discuss the matter with them. Sorry went off on a tangent there. Did I mention what a great restaurant it was?!

Excellent food here, superb staff, wine is second to none, especially the red from Puglia they knock out and exceptional value too. The Nonna (bacon and pasta), the seafood risotto and the exceptionally fresh Tricolore are to be advised.

Ate here with a group of friends and had an excellent meal. You need to book - even on a Tuesday evening the restaurant was full and buzzing by 8.00pm. And I can see why; with the exception of the desserts (served from a trolley 1976-style, clearly bought-in rather than homemade and the two we had were disappointing) the food was excellent. It's not the cheapest Italian in town (£8-£11 for a starter, £15+ for most mains) but it's definitely good, skillfully cooked and served in large portions. The linguine with lobster for instance came with half a small lobster - no hunting around for tiny pieces of meat. It's clearly wildly popular with the prosperous locals and I can see why.
