Description: Drinks at DUKES Bar is something of an occasion. The legendary bar is internationally renowned for its famous martinis and personalised cocktails. Frequented by James Bond author Ian Fleming, the bar is said to be the inspiration for the classic line, 'shaken, not stirred'. So whether you're relaxing after a meeting or getting together with friends for special drinks, the intimate and timeless surroundings, coupled with the bartender's knowledge, make it an unforgettable experience.

Went to Dukes for a pre-dinner cocktail with some colleagues. We got there at 5.15 and a lot of the tables had been taken. There were sone with Reserved signs on them (even though you can't book a table). We were told that they were reserved for hotel residents. I said that we were only staying for 1 drink as we had a dinner reservation at The Wolseley and was told by the White Jacketed barman that we couldn't sit at them even for a short period of time.

You also can't stand at the bar as the area around it is quite small.

Am sure the Martini's are lovely but when there are a number of empty tables and they won't let you use one for 30minutes you wonder whether there is any point trying again.

For our anniversary, we decided to go somewhere smaller and quiter and Duke's bar was perfect for us. Cocktails were strong, really strong, and we enjoyed all the nibbles we were offered. Don't go there expecting any wild parties, this is the place for nice quite and relaxed conversation.

Restaurant Thirty Six was a wonderful find, accessed through an alley off Green Park. I went there for a three course dinner on a Toptable deal (three courses and a glass of Prosecco). It ended up being seven courses!
Before the starter even arrived we were given little parmesan nibbles and spicy popcorn a mushroom cappuccino and freshly baked mini loaves with salted or unsalted butter. The food was sophisticated and attractively presented, although my John Dory starter was a bit overcooked. We were also given a pre-dessert of a Margarita with tequila gel and a post-dessert of petit fours.
The restaurant is in a hotel and felt slightly impersonal, as if people were only passing through. However the staff were extremely professional, the service was top notch, attentive without being annoying.

We decided to drop in for an early (6.15 pm) meal, having just flown in from New York. We knew of the famous Dukes Bar but not of the restaurant. Wow - someone's been keeping a secret. Our expectation of a conventional meal were dashed with the first of two brilliant amuse bouches the first small fried truffle dumplingy things followed by a cup of cheesy fish foam. The entree of Scottish scallops was sweet and creamy and my lamb tender and full of flavour as was my wife's venison. Not stopping there, our dessert was preceded by an offering from the restaurant of a frozen intensely flavoured lemony margarita. The actual desert of so called rhubarb and custard was a complex of rhubarb tart, creme anglais, sorbet and thin slices of rhubarb. What was to have been a meal of convenience turned out to be an almost Heston event. Coupled with knowledgeable and prompt service, it became a special night out.

Restaurant Thirty Six at Dukes Hotel,is one of London's hidden little Gems,we had lunch with friends.Everything was first class, we were greeted by very polite waiters, nothing was too much trouble

We had the Special Lunch Menu three Courses & two glasses of wine ,All the food was very well presented cooked to perfection .What we enjoyed was the time in between courses you never felt rushed it was nice to sit and Relax

This is the second time we have had Lunch at Thirty Six, and it was just as perfect as our first visit

Afternoon teas are also served , we have not taken afternoon tea, but have seen the most wonderful selection of sandwiches & Cakes most beautifully presented, so on our next visit to London we have decided this is something we must experience
