Description: Since first opening the doors of our little bakery and food retail shop in Walton Street in 1995 we have stuck to the simple principle of making almost everything we sell fresh from scratch on a daily basis - producing an original selection of cakes, pastries and cookies. Each morning our stores are filled with the aroma of delicious morning pastries, cinnamon buns, in-season fruit filled Danish pastries and our iconic croissants -all freshly baked on the premises. Each day you will find an array of hand crafted, artisan sourdough breads side by side with an inspiring, seductive range of cooked and prepared foods. Being ingredient led, we use what's in season, source authentic, local, organic and Fair trade where possible with an emphasis on British and European produce. Our food is simple honest and genuine, flavoured with spices, herbs and ingredients drawn from the culinary roots of Mediterranean cooking, with a pinch of Asian for taste and of course created by people who love preparing it and are happy to talk endlessly about it. Everything we make can be enjoyed in any one of our three Baker & Spice neighbourhood stores, open early each day for amazing breakfasts, delicious lunches or wonderful aromatic teas, coffees and cake right through the day to early evening and of course you can take it all home with you. You can also find us in Selfridges Food Hall off Oxford Street for freshly prepared food perfect to take away.

Really good service. The pastries are really nice especially the pistachio and choc au pain.

Nice and big too along with good sized coffee which tasted good too.

BAKER & SPICE, Elizabeth Street
Went there for a brunch prior to going to the theatre. Nice little place with very good breakfast offerings with freshly baked bread. Has outdoor and indoor seating. We chose the indoor one that looks onto the Elizabeth Street so you can see the world go by. The scrambled eggs and poached eggs with Cumberland sausages were very good as was the eggs Florentine. The fresh orange juice was not so fresh and the fresh apple juice is fresh but has too much apple “roughage” in it . Perhaps some people like it but we did not . Service was very quick and the staff efficient and courteous. Very good place to eat .

I have been going to this place for more than 20 years when they moved from Walton Street to where they are now. Always a nice spot with fresh bakery, coffee and all type of salads and light food cold and hot.
I love it and hope it will stay here for ever, I would miss it for my morning breaks, and lunches sometimes..

The croissants and pain au raison, together with the pain au chocolate, were inedible. Cold. Tasted as if from a package. Insulting. Not the same Baker and Spice from years ago.
