“Warm welcome and excellent lunch!”
Reviewed January 1, 2014

With excellent service, friendly atmosphere and varied menu, this is a great choice for an Italian meal - we went on our way back from Christmas shopping and both felt we should have tried it before! It is very good value and well worth a visit.

“Disappointing”
Reviewed November 8, 2013

Visited by a group of 4 of us in town for a course, because we had a voucher they'd emailed one of us. The restaurant seemed quite busy, usually a good sign, but we were kept waiting without being acknowledged (we didn't realise they were clearing a table for us) and nearly walked out. The food was fairly standard Italian restaurant-type fare, and enjoyable enough, but the appetisers arrived well separated in time with no explanation, and when it came to our dessert, espresso coffees were brought instead of espresso ices despite one of us double checking that the waitress had the order right, and she then argued with us. This was the last straw; we had already felt that we were in their way by being there. Maybe we just caught them on a bad night and they were too busy, but it made for a poor atmosphere in the place and rather put us off. Don't think I'd visit again, a pity because it was reasonably good value.

“Poor service”
Reviewed November 7, 2013

We were kept waiting a very long time for our food. The order was mixed up and while the food was acceptable, we were left under no illusions that we were a nuisance for asking for the correct starter and sweet courses as we had ordered.
The service was incredibly slow and I'd recommend walking past this branch of Ask and going elsewhere.

“Always nice and up to standard”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

I was invited there by a business associate using a two for one voucher. Notwithstanding this we were treated well, the food was very good and we indulged in an extra bottle of red wine.

“Contemporary decor - Pleasant enough”
Reviewed September 28, 2013

On the way to a theatre we booked a table via a phone app. This avoided the "will we get a seat" worries when you are time limited. Needn't have worried though as there were only two other tables occupied in this large restaurant. This actually led to our main gripe. Once seated and in possession ofthe menu, we were then left alone for quite a time. No one came to take a drinks order for a good 10 minutes. In the end I called a waitress over and she took the full dinner order. However from that point on, everything was fine. Pay a little more attention to the guests early on please!

The food was good without being outstanding but with a particularly nice 'misto' of olives cheese bread and salami apetiser.

The decor was very good and the restaurant was clean and bright. All in all a pleasant enough experience
