Allo Bar One near Bond Street tube station. Looks great, on a pleasant September evening there were people sitting at the tables on the footpath. I was with a party of eleven and we had a good position up the back with a bench along the wall.
I had the Boxed Camembert starter and the Lime and Lemongrass Cheesecake with Citrus Creme Fraiche pudding. These were both delicious and good value for money.
Downsides to this place: the "music" was too noisy. I assume it was music but I couldn't hear what it was only the thump-thump-thump. I don't know if this is what the usual customers want, but it wasn't what my party wanted. We had to shout to each other trying to have a conversation and shout at the waiter to be heard. We asked several times for it to be turned down but it kept creeping up in volume again.
Lack of puddings: when we ordered, we discovered that there was only one serve of Pannacotta and one of cheesecake available. Come on, really? Were you not expecting anyone to come this evening and order off the menu?
One of my colleagues had trouble with her tea - first it didn't arrive, then it came with a dirty milk jug and then it turned out to be English Breakfast when she ordered Earl Gray.
Perhaps the noise made it difficult to hear the order?
