“sadaf - excellent food and pleasant ambience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2013

Had lunch for 2 - I had a lamb kebab and my wife had lamb chops. Both were ample portions and very tasty. We had a naan which was baked while we waited and also excellent. I have an intolerance to diary and our waiter was helpful and knowledgeable as I quizzed him about what was in the dishes (yoghurt being a no-no for me).

We would go there again if visiting London.

“The most authentic and really best Persian restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2013 via mobile

We have been always eating and trying Persian restaurants in London and area while visiting and this time on given two previous restaurants we visited were fully booked we got to Sadaf given the taxi driver recommended it and after checking with the lovely host and owner who told us that being a guest he makes sure we get a table we had so dinner at Sadaf and what a delight and such surprise. The food is really so good and with attentive friendly hosts and owner always in sight the food is really an experience.
The ambiance is very authentic which one can expect in Iran itself, not too posh not too tacky or kitsch yet stylish enough with attention to details such as the smiles and music and the quality of food, so it was a memorable dinner and kebab and naan with saffron rice is just amazing.
Do not forget to go for the yoghurt drink with mint that is utterly refreshing and healthy.
We shall sure visit Sadaf at every other visit.

“A great finding”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

We had dinner at Sadaf on a week day and it was a great surprise: the food is tasty and of great quality and prices are really reasonable (1£ the naan-type bread). The wine is also not expensive and perfect to go with the Persian dishes. We plan to come back with friends and family very soon.

“Tasty Food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2013

What a nice place to eat this is. The food is tasty and the price is really reasonable for being in Central London. Good portions. The Hummus is lovely with fresh hot naans. They give a green chilli dip which is amazingly HOT! Be warned it's hot, but do try it ... It's glorious! All in all, a very good experience.

“Consistently good, friendly staff, tasty food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 29, 2012

Over the last year or so Sadaf has come to be one of my favourite places in London for good Iranian food. We found the place somewhat serendipitously, looking for home delivery on Urabanbite. Over the months we've ordered several times, and the food has been consistently high quality. Since then we've been to eat at the restaurant as well, and the waiters were very helpful and courteous. They helped us find a new table immediately as we weren't totally happy with our first table. They were also eager and happy to make recommendations to my parents who weren't familiar with Iranian food.

My favourites are the lamb shank and the Zereshk Polo (spatchcocked chicken served on a bed of rice cooked with Zereshk berries). They both come with their cooking sauces, which are rich tomato-based sauces and deliciously flavourful. For starters my top tip is the Mirza Ghasemi, a lip-smackingly good warm dip that goes a treat with bread.

A little known secret- the home made green chilli sauce- packs a punch and goes wonderfully with the kebabs and rice.
