“London”
Reviewed July 9, 2018 for a stay in June 2018

Fantastic apartment with everything we wanted. Great location and excellent information and directions suppled by Melissa. Most definitely stay if we get to London again. Only complaint would be the flat was hot but considering London was having a heat wave it was to be expected.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. Yes, London is having a surprising bout of hot weather with temperatures above 25 degrees Celsius every day for two weeks. London has not had a summer like this since 1976.

If the house is too warm, I suggest that guests
1 Keep the blinds closed during the day
2 Open the big picture window in the top floor living room.
3 Open the skylight in the top floor living room. This creates airflow and allows the whole house to cool down.

London homes do not typically have air-conditioning.

My usual summer advice is to carry sunglasses, a cardigan and an umbrella in your bag every day. I believe the weather will be back to the usual pattern of cloudy with sunny spells and some showers next week.

With the England football team appearing the World Cup semi-final and the prolonged sunny weather, 2018 has been a once-in-a-generation summer.

Thanks again for writing. I am so pleased that you had a good time.

“Great apartment in wonderful location”

This is a great choice for anyone staying in London. Clean and tidy apartment, with 3 bedrooms. Everything we needed was provided, and the location is great, very close to two tube stations, and lots of local restaurants and small grocery stores. Communication with the owner was clear, quick, and easy. There is a pub very close by, open Monday - Thursday until 10.30-11pm, and Fridays until 1-1.30am. On fine, warm nights the noise level is quite loud, so keep that in mind. Also we were there for a bank holiday weeekend and the pub was also were open for a private event on the Saturday night, until about 2am. That’s the only slight downside though, the apartment is fantastic, and perfect for a stay in London.

Thank you for taking time to write this review. I am sorry that you were disturbed by the pub on Hatton Wall. It is unusual for it to have a private event and be open after 11pm.

It is a balancing act when choosing where to stay in a big city. If you choose to stay in the centre, live close to the action and minimise your travelling time each day, you will experience life in central London, which can be noisy at times. The mews has very little traffic and the customers of the pub only stand outside on warm, dry nights.

I am glad that you liked the house and I hope that you will recommend it to your friends or even visit again yourselves.

“Perfect house, perfect location”

Lovely oasis of calm in The City! We brought our 3 kids for their first visit to London for a week and couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. Gave us all our own space to relax and the kitchen/living room at the top was bright and spacious. The property was absolutely spotless with quality linens and furnishings.
The location was just perfect - a few mins walk to Farringdon station and loads of amenities nearby, including small supermarkets, restaurants and takeaways. Exmouth Market area was lovely in the evening and Leather Lane street food market was brilliant!!
Melissa's correspondence was spot on - very informative and friendly. We all had a ball. Thank you!!

“Excellent Flat”
Reviewed April 2, 2018 for a stay in March 2018

Our family of 6 (2 adults, 4 kids) stayed here for 8 days. The flat was easy to find and a short walk from 2 tube stations on different lines as well as easy access to the bus stops and a small grocery stores. The owner's instructions were very clear and we appreciated the self check in. The owner was available for questions during the week and responded immediately. The flat is exactly as pictured and described. There was plenty of room for all of us in the 3 bedrooms. The stairs are narrow and a bit steep but I think that is normal for anywhere in London.

I had booked this house because it had the perfect room split for a family visit of five adults. The house is split over three levels with the top floor being the common area with kitchen (everything you need to cook or order in), TV (and loads of electronic gadgets) table and seating area. The split levels meant that everyone had their own space which is great when you are traveling with family! The house is modern with state of the art appliances and hot water on demand. The bedrooms are clean and uncluttered. There is a guide to the house and surrounding area provided and it is informative about the local attractions. It also gives you the etiquette of the house which is really helpful (we read about which day the binds were collected after the fact...sorry M!) The location is central and gives you a flavor of bustling London and is well connected by public transportation, we were able to zip around in no time and all within easy reach of our base. The little side street is private and the bar at the end of it gives a warm bustling noise that can be easily blocked out by closing one of the large windows. The owner could not have been more helpful with clear and joined up communication before our visit. We were able to stay a little time after the ten am check-out time because our flights home were quite late and this was not an issue at all which I found exceeded the norm and saved us carrying our luggage around for hours. I would happily recommend this house to anyone thinking of visiting London and I will most definitely book a return as this house has everything I needed, believe the positive reviews it really ticks all the boxes!

“Great stay in Clerkenwell”
Reviewed January 7, 2018 for a stay in January 2018

We found this rental to be clean, comfortable and as advertised. We particularly enjoyed the top floor living/cooking area with its natural light. There are quite a few stairs, but this was not a problem for us. We would recommend this rental based on its location close to the Underground and comfortable accommodations.

“Family loved it - loft-style living experience”
Reviewed December 31, 2017 for a stay in December 2017

It is as described: well-furnished, equipped and located within easy access to public transportation, supermarkets for basics, and cafes, including one with reputedly UK best mince pies.
The 2nd floor was suitable for the adult children; the 1st floor master bedroom was really spacious, and the living/dining room with kitchen, with skylight on 3rd floor was a welcome gathering area for the family. Going up and down between floors was manageable as there were sturdy metal balustrades and slip proof floors. We particularly like that safety aspects were paramount in the design, as the stairs even had emergency exit lights. The kitchen amenities were most satisfying; we did not have to wait to long for the kettle to boil or to make toast, and the oven and microwave were ready for use. The toilet areas were heated. The dryer and the washing machine came with many different programs; we should not have brought too many clothes with us. The accommodation was clean and bright when we first arrived.sorry we could only empty the bins as we left at 6.30 am first thing in the morning.
The Hat and Tun pub had roaring business leading to the Xmas weekend, so that added to the festive mood in the neighborhood but from 23rd onwards, and even after Boxing Day, the area quitened as with the city. The area near Farringdon has quite a bit of history though we did not have much time to uncover. Apparently this rental is a rare find, in Clerkenwell, based on input we received from an expat who works in M&A and lives in the area for few years. The family loved the loft-style experience with common areas/space, private space and amenities.
We walked, from the accommodation, albeit on different days, to London Eye, henceforth to Westminster and St James Park and Buckingham Palace, British Museum, Borough Market to gather the sights;took cabs back ( for 5 to 6 adults, paid slightly more than on buses but with extra convenience and comfort) from Euston, Borough, Regent St, etc), buses to/from Shoreditch, Oxford St, Tottenham, etc, underground to Holborn from Hyde Park, etc.

Melissa has been a tremendous help on travel advice to Manchester on Xmas Day, given the limited travel options that day, as we had a Boxing Day match to catch at Old Trafford, and back to London after that.
One small thing - there could have been a proper door stopper for the utility room, and we did not know what to do with the many linen left to dry in the utility room which greeted us when we arrived.
