We've been visiting this restaurant for over 10 years and it never fails to let us down. The staff are always friendly and chatty, it was good to see John our favourite waiter is still there. They do a good set menu for theatre goers and also a good main menu with a good selection and choice. If you can, try and book a table at the arch windows, its good for people watching. The restaurant location is great for the Southbank and festival hall and all the attractions along the Thames. You cant go wrong with this restaurant, good food, great service and good location, we'll definitely be visiting again.

We ate at The Archduke the other night after a long business day. The restaurant is built into the arch of a bridge and has great live Jazz playing. The service is not good at all and likely because the tip is automatically added to the tab.The atmosphere is pretty cool but the food we ordered was disappointing. We started with the tomato cream soup which was anything but creamy, it was not seasoned and very bland. The olives were large and fresh. The steak while tasty was somewhat fatty. The grilled veg plate was okay but needed seasoning. The burger was, well a burger, nothing great but then again not too many places make a great burger. We would have ordered more drinks and apps had the server come back to the table. Same with dessert, we were offered any so because of the service, I would not recommend this place. For the food, probably would have given it a second chance.

What a great venue this is. Built into a railway arch ! I know what you are thinking- it's bright spacious and the whole ceiling is lined with glass and there is a Greta mezzanine floor which gives a classy feel on the south bank. The have live jazz playing but not in your face so you can still speak and hear. There is a drinking area around the small stage Which hold usually 2 people and the main seating is for food is situated a at a slightly higher level so you can hear the music but cannot see the performers. The perform 20 minutes sets so there is silence for 40 mins an hour.

The food is a limited menu and is used a lot for pre theatre meals, so best to book from 19.30 if you are not going to the arts! As I say the menu is not extensive but the food is top quality with the steaks to die for. They have speciality beers and a good stock of quality wines . Chicken lamb fish all available and even there burger gets the taste buds watering, if you are trying to impress or just want a classy night out ,this is a must. Not cheap but fair value allowing for the location and live music!

Very busy, but good service, good choice on the menu,. Food well prepared and presented. I had a burger, which was cooked as I wanted. The others food was also well cooked and presented. Only down side was the noise of the trains overhead. Would recommend and go again.

mid week walk in for 2. place was more or less full. 2 steaks and a bottle of wine. Food was Ok but I thoguht the prices a BIT high- but not outrageous. for me there is only so much you can do with a steak which is why ths doesnt get a higher rating. If you are a steak fan , it's good.

I'd come again
