Description: Piccolino brings a true taste of Italy to the heart of Liverpool. Less than five minutes' walk from Moorfields rail station and easily accessible from the Docks, this Italian restaurant offers a wonderful combination of both modern and classic Italian dishes prepared in an open kitchen in full view of diners. Fresh pasta is made daily from scratch in the pasta kitchen and is a charming spectacle for guests to watch. The menu is rustic, simple and delicious, and created using the finest, freshest ingredients.

This was my second visit to piccolinos Liverpool. It had a warm welcoming atmosphere this time and the service was excellent we enjoyed a beautiful grilled fish, salad and wine. Helped us wind down after a hectic day.

Booked in by some friends, and were more than happy with their choice. The restaurant were somehow expecting us half an hour before we arrived, but there was no difficulty, only a courteous welcome. Pleasant to receive the courtesy of coats being taken from us and whisked away out of sight. Olives were unusual - stones in and quite fresh, in a light olive oil. The pasta dishes were very well done indeed, the pizza just right, and the quality of the puddings overcame, in most of us, Lenten resolve to avoid excess. Well recommended.

Myself and 4 friends went to a pasta making evening last night at Piccollinos in Liverpool. It was £30 pp which included a demonstration by the chef, hands on practice making a variety of pasta shapes, a three course meal, a glass of Prosecco and a little goodie bag at the end. A thoroughly enjoyable evening with a great atmosphere, lovely staff and well worth the money.

At 9.45 pm on a Wednesday evening, you don't find too many restaurants not only still serving, but happy do do so.
The greeting was particularly warm and welcoming, coats taken and an escort to our booth.
Service was efficient, friendly and quick. As always there is an effort to sell you more, but it was pleasant and not forced.
The starter was very good a mixed platter between four and accompanied by olives which were declared the best tasted.
Three of us had pasta dishes and they got top marks, I had one of the specials, escalope of veal with wilted spinach and mushrooms in a Marsala sauce. Delicious taste but veal slightly overdone and the sauce could have been a little thicker, it was superb but too much left on the plate, and at £18.95 with no veg or sides you expect better.
Wines and drinks were over priced, £6.50 per GLASS for a reasonable Merlot.
All in all, a pleasant meal, and yes we would go back.
