Stayed here for a birthday surprise from my husband, what a treat!! Superb hotel, staff, surroundings, location, absolutely perfect. We stayed at the end of November , so we had the Christmas markets & all the other Christmas treats to visit & sample. The hotel was lovely, loads to see, read & do, plenty of company for a chat, if you want to & live music to boot! The staff were very welcoming & very helpful. Fantastic breakfast, sets you up for the day! It was a bit pricy for a one night stay, but it is cheaper if you go midweek & earlier in the year! Well worth a visit. Well done Hard Days Night!!

Open to non-residents and so attracting local flavour and not just tourist trade;this bar provides a great backdrop in which to meet.Depending on the season (and time of day)it offers lively buzz, friendly warmth, romantic, intimate or relaxed tone.Table service is spot on with staff who KNOW cocktails able to advise and bartenders who mix like the best!

We had a lovely meal in wonderful surroundings but the experience was tainted by two things: First they had a 'set' Christmas menu and an a la carte menu. While I wanted to order from the set menu my husband wanted to order from the a la carte but we were told this was not possible - why would this be? Also we had to pay a £10 per person deposit which was supposed to be deducted from our bill. Unfortunately this did not happen and we did not notice until the following day. We called back at the hotel but the restuarant was not open so we were told our deposit could not be refunded but that someone would call me the following day. This did not happed so I then phoned them. They did apologise and eventually a cheque for the deposit amount was mailed to me. The food, however, was superb.

Thoroughly enjoyed special birthday celbration weekend at the hotel. A visit to the Cavern and drinks in the bar added to the 'mood' of the weekend. Bedrooms very comfortable, warm and quiet. Staff were friendly and obliging. Breakfast delicious. Well positioned hotel. We will be back!

I was really looking forward to staying here which is probably why I was so disappointed. Other than a couple of pictures on the wall I didn't see much that would identify it as a Beatles inspired hotel. Inside, it was in my opinion a much smaller hotel than you would think.
The broken heating system was made worse because the night I stayed was a particularly cold one. The hotel was aware of the problem but i still needed to ask for a heater. Iwas lucky my colleague was not so lucky and had a very cold uncomfortable night. The wardrobe was a walk in cupboard which would have been great only for the fact that it did not have a light inside and therefore could not see very well. if i used the safe i would have struggled to see the contents. The room had almost no natural light so the room was very dark.
The pluses were the breakfast and the staff.
Would i stay again. Probably not. There is much better value eleswehere.

Room Tip: Stay eleswehere.
