“Everything Fine, Except Air Conditioning”
Reviewed January 27, 2013

I normally gravitate to the Premier Inn, a so called budget hotel. So checking in here was a pleasant change. Everything looks great, room was large, well equipped and comfortable.

On the down side, the air conditioning drones on all night, making sleep extremely difficult.

I have been offered an upgrade if available on my next stay, which will be never. Somewhat short of the Premier Inns response if you don't get a good nights sleep.

Dear Rick,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review regarding your stay with us.

I was disappointed to read that you did not enjoy your stay due to the noise from the air conditioning. This problem could easily have been resolved while you were in the hotel.

I was happy to read that you enjoyed the look of the hotel and the size of the room.

Please feel free to contact me on hans.konings@radissonblu.com so we can discuss your experience in more detail.

KInd Regards,
Hans

I stayed here just one night with a colleague from work. The hotel is nicely located, 5 minutes walk from the station and just round the corner from nice restuarants. Checkin was quick and easy, no mess and polite. The room has all facilities needed, wireless, dopuble bed, tea and coffee but note there is no stocked mini-bar and bottles of water. You have to ask for these which doesnt seem right to me. TV with channels and radio for your entertainment. the bed was comfortable, and the aircon in the room worked well. The room is nicely lit and has working desk. The bathroom was clean and had bath and shower. The room was clean and tidy, well presented. Be careful of the doors, they close but do not always lock themselves. The area to the rooms over looked reception, it had a bit of a lifeless feel, being very grey, cold feeling and open. The bar down stairs is split around 3 areas, its quite funky but lacks any excitement. Breakfast was ok, this is where it let itself down. The lady on the desk was very helpful, however the rest of the staff didnt. No bowls for creal, I had to ask, there was a queue for any special requests such as poached eggs. The food was well laid out but no cover for the uncut bread so everyone would put there hands all over the bread when its being cut. If the breakfast was fine, then I would award 5 stars for the hotel compared to the price. Ovreall a good stay and well worth the money.

Dear Dragek,

Thank you very much for taking the time and write a great review.

As a regular traveller and top contributor your feedback is greatly appreciated and I have shared your comments with the rest of the staff as well. We have taken your comments about the breakfast service very seriously and we will make sure we pay extra attention to these standards.

I was very pleased to read that overall you had a good stay and that we were just short of getting 5 stars.

We will do everything we can to get 5 stars next time and I hope you will decide to stay with us again in the future.

Kind Regards,
Hans

Instead of "Hello sir", "Welcome to the Radisson, hope you journey here as been not too tiring etc..." we were simply greeted with the question: "What's your name?". Admittedly it was midnight so the staff may have been tired, but not as tired as us after flying into the city from Europe.
In addition, we parked our hire car at the entrance to the hotel, which prompted the concierge to run out and demand that we move the car. I was taken aback so replied: "But we're staying at the hotel." He later explained that the hotel entrance ground wasn't supported for the weight of cars. This may be the case, but why not simply place a bollard to prevent cars pulling up at the entrance of the hotel and thus avoid having a concierge running out to tell guests what they can't do on arrival.
The hotel breakfast staff were excellent and friendly and likewise the reception staff in the morning...

We stayed as a couple for two nights and really enjoyed ourselves. I ordered room service which came quickly and was tasty. Bed was heavenly. Bathroom large, warm, clean and modern. Would definitely stay here again if visiting Liverpool.

The staff were welcoming and helpful. Our rooms were quiet and comfortable with great views of the river. The decor was a little tired and the tv's rather small, but the beds were comfortable and the breakfast buffet excellent with lots of healthy options as well as the usual English fry-up.

Room Tip: The higher the better and ask for river view.

We stayed here friday 11th and saturday 12th january. Our room was clean and modern, and the bathroom was a decent size. the shower was not great, and seemed to trickle out rather than being a good power shower. Also as another review has said the room was very noisy through the night as the air conditioner does not turn off, the room is also a little stuffy as the windows can never be opened! But apart from these few niggles overall the hotel was nice, very clean and modern, the breakast was of a good standard, and the staff very attentive. The only problem with this is, my husband booked this for me for my birthday weekend and booked this hotel only on the fact that it stated that it had a spa like leisure centre. So on saturday morning after breakfast we went down for a quick look before getting our swim costumes. OH MY GOD what a disgrace the swimming pool was in, i have seen better council lesuire clubs. I wish i had my camera to take photos! The paint was peeling off the ceiling and hanging off, falling to the floor, the floor looked like it had never been cleaned, there was also a metal spiral staircase, which was competely rusted and moving from the wall and the steps had a cover over them which was peeling away, i was shocked to say the least. The lesiure club should be closed down and have a total refit, im sure if the health and safety were to turn up they would not let this place carry on trading. Very disapointing.
