Staff were very helpful & friendly. We had requested a quiet room as per previous trip advisor reports, (through Lastminute.com) but the request was not passed onto the hotel. We were put into a room at the front. The main noise was early morning dustcarts/deliveries 6am ish so if you are happy to wake then, no problem. Wooden flooring may cause noise problems depending on which room you are in. 'Liverpool Breakfast' was so large we waited until after we ate it before having cereal etc. in general excellent location for sightseeing, between the 2 Cathedrals, near local restaurants & pubs (although the hotel has it's own which looked well occupied most evenings). Location is much quieter than the city centre would be. For us it was easy walking distance of about 20 mins down a gentle hill to Albert Dock etc. Barrier controlled parking 1 minute away £10 a night. Short term parking bays immediately outside hotel. The only negative about staff was at breakfast was there was always something missing from the table setting - sugar, salt/pepper, cup...

I stayed for one night for work but wished i could have stayed! Great value at just £70 for a room with the internet rate providing huge savings and lovely lovely room - I had a stabdrad room but it beat the likes of malmaison hands down for comfort (gorge bed!) and added extras e.g bathrobes, water etc. The only thing is the location which is a bit furrther into town but only a 5 minute cab from the Albert docks and the restarant is meant to be really good anyway if you wanted to stay in. I'll go back there for a weekend break next!

It was our 17th wedding anniversary and my wife and I had always wanted to visit the city of Liverpool. I saw this hotel on Late rooms.com and my wife and I thought thats the place we want to stay. Upon check-in at the hotel we were informed that we had been upgraded to a deluxe room which really made our day as we had originally booked a standard king room. The room was amazing with a breathtaking skyline view over the city which looked even more amazing at night. We will definetely be returning in the future.

Dear Cagsd

WoW, thank you so much for taking the time for such a full review. We love showing off the view, everyone is so proud to show it off. We should make it clearer that guests can request hypoallergic bedding. Do come back and see the view at night - you can imagine!
Best wishes CD

We treated ourselves to a night at the Hope Street Hotel for our wedding anniversary, having heard good things about it from friends who'd previously stayed, and also having already enjoyed a meal in its restaurant The London Carriageworks last year.
Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly and helpful receptionist who provided us with a key fob for the car park across the road. We then parked up and returned to the hotel to check in, and were informed we had been upgraded to a studio room at no extra cost - what a great start to our stay!
Our room was large, light and airy and spotlessly clean, with pristine white cotton bedding on a huge bed; wooden floors, couch, wardrobe, flat screen TV on the wall and drink-making facilities. The bathroom was also large, with walk-in shower, bathtub, sink and toilet.
We had booked a meal in the restaurant that evening and could not fault either the food or the service, both were fantastic. We then enjoyed a drink in the adjoining bar before retiring to our room.
It was a warm night so we decided to use the air conditioning to keep us cool, this was easy to use and easily adjustable.
The bed was comfortable but my only small gripe was that the bedding (quilt / pillows) were feather, whereas I prefer non allergenic.
We enjoyed a delicious breakfast in the restaurant next morning, being given a choice of either full cooked breakfast (with unlimited juice, coffee etc) or continental style (including pastries, rolls, yogurt, cereal, fruit etc etc). The friendly staff did not rush us so we were able to take our time over breakfast and then sit in the bar area reading the newspaper.
Upon checking out the receptionist asked us if we had enjoyed our stay (we most certainly had!) and asked whether we had seen the new conference / function facilities on the fifth floor - we had not, so she kindly offered to take us up to look - and WOW!!! What we saw took our breath away! What an amazing view of the city - panoramic views across all the sights of Liverpool, across the river Mersey and beyond to the Welsh hills - we were astounded that such views could be found from the heart of the city centre!
The receptionist offered to take some photoes of us against this lovely backdrop - a very thoughtful touch! This was the perfect end to a lovely stay and we certainly hope to return soon!

Having returned from our weekend at the Hope Street Hotel I feel compelled to write a review. Firstly, the building itself looks amazing when you first arrive outside. Upon walking inside it only gets better. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a top floor suite (Thankyou very much!!) and all i can say is that it was amazing (room 502). The views were simply incredible when stood on the balcony and we were lucky enough to have lovely weather so we could see for miles. The room itself was on 2 floors and it was like having our own apartment!! This was a surprise anniversary trip for my girlfriend and the hotel made it extra special (they weren't aware it was out anniversary neither!!)

Thankyou very much hope street hotel for a lovely stay. Your staff and their hopitality are a credit!! I can't wait to return and will be telling all my friends about you too.

This was our 2nd stay in this lovely hotel. Rather pleasingly, we were upgraded to a studio room (having booked a standard room). A fab room, with a huuuge, pristine bathroom (walk-in shower - nice) and a balcony. Bed was huge, linen beautifully laundered. Reception staff, as with our last visit here, were exceptionally helpful and very pleasant to deal with.

The only downer was our breakfast experience on the Sunday morning. Breakfast times are from 8.30-10.30. We went down at 9.45. Staff looked hassled, unable to cope and wouldn't make eye contact (presumably in an effort to avoid being asked to do something else). It was admittedly busy.

We were asked to sit at an unset table. We did so. Twenty minutes passed and no one had come to our table (by this time my tummy was rumbling audibly) - no menu, no offer of tea/coffee, no nothing. In the end I got up to get my own menu. Still not a waiting-staff soul came our way. My partner went up to a member of staff and asked if we could have tea and toast. She told him rather firmly by a grumpy waitress to be seated and that someone would be with him to take our order. [When exactly? Lunchtime?]

We were eventually served. However, Grumpy Waitress soon turned up with tea and toast (though not quite what we'd ordered) - we pointed this out to her. She barely concealed her anger and she was frankly rude. Another waitress then at the same time turned up with our order. Much tutting from Grumpy Waitress. Wasn't much in the way of breakfast left by the time we'd been allowed to order. No cutlery either.

It was a shame. This is a lovely hotel, and the staff are usually utterly charming and go out of their way to help you. A bit more management/organisation for a weekend breakfast sitting seems to be in order.

Dear Londonloobyloo,

Thank you for your review and I do apologise for your breakfast experince - our standards obviously fell very short that Sunday morning. Whatever our issues back stage should never be apparent front of house and I am sorry we were not able to hide our difficulties that morning. Breakfast is such an important meal and we expect our guests to leave having enjoyed effcient, cheerful service and delicious food. I hope you both come back for a perfect third time! Best wishes CD

As a family group we stayed at the hotel to celebrate my mothers birthday. Dealing with the hotel before hand had been very easy which from experience of other hotels is not always the case . I had seen an offer on one of the travel sites for stay 2 nights and get the third free , and Tracy on reception willingingly offered to arrange for this directly through the hotel.
The hotel was in a great location , lots of nice bars and restaurants nearby and between the 2 cathedrals . I guess although I found the location good , it could be the only downside for some people who may want to be by the docks , but this really was not a problem , as the docks were only a 15 min walk , and like I said the area around the hotel had plenty its own charms.
The rooms were lovely , crisp white bedding , very comfortable beds and great bathrooms. Reception didnt make a point of even mentioning it , but they had upgraded my mother's room which was a lovely touch.
The restaurant was very stylish , as were the other common areas. The breakfasts were excellent and well worth pre-booking for, and the staff very friendly.
All in all I can whole heartedly recommend the hotel - to the point that , it has forced me to write my first review :-). .
For those celeb spotters out there , one of the 'Girls Aloud' was staying there at the same time as us - and she looked to be very happy there too .
I look forward to visiting liverpool again , and when I do I would definitely go back to the Hope Street Hotel
