We could only get one night at this charming small hotel. The beds were super comfortable with a very modern bathroom with a great shower. The breakfast was very British but had good fresh fruit. The location of the hotel is very convenient for the university area and also the downtown that is only 10 minutes away.

Room Tip: We had a room facing the north side and it was very quiet - but the street is not a noisy one like t...

Just spent one night at Hope Street. Reception staff were charming and helpful. Room wasn't huge but the bed was so comfy, clean, spacious bathroom and partial views over towards the Liver Building and dock area. But tea and coffee facilties were tucked away between the wardrobe and bed so awkward to use. There were lovely Ren products in the bathroom but no soap dish and the towel rail didn't heat up.
The breakfast was included for us and you can choose between cooked or continental buffet. We both had a cooked breakfast which was ok ish ('vine tomatoes' was just one half of a normal salad tomato, dry overcooked mushrooms...v good black pudding though), but really quite meagre on portion size and didn't come with multi-grain toast as promised on the menu. When we asked for toast, the waiter brought us flabby, half toasted sandwich bread. It was a real shame as the menu seemed to make a point about locally sourced ingredients and generally nodding to their gastro focus, but to let such cheap, nasty processed bread to be served to guests was really disappointing. So if you aren't planning to be a non B&B guest, I would save money and eat elsewhere as that plate of mediocre rushed food was not worth £15 odd as the menu asked. Also despite apparently having many staff during breakfast service, several tables were left uncleared (I unwittingly put my elbows on something sticky on the first table we sat down on so we moved tables, and along the bar were 10 or so dirty used glasses and half used dishes of brown sauce/ketchup (even if you can't clean them straight away, I'd be inclined to remove from sight).
Overall they seemed to aim for luxury, boutique touches but were lacking in integrity when it came to the food, bit clumsy aesthetically and could try to be more slick during breakfast service.

Excellent hotel all round. Reception staff were lovely, helpful and friendly. Room was very nice with lots of little touches that really make the difference (nice range of teas/coffee, dressing gown, nice selection of toiletries etc), very comfortable bed with great pillows, breakfast was fabulous too. Cannot recommend it highly enough

We booked the Hope Street Hotel as we stopped off in Liverpool on our way to Ireland from our wedding. So the hotel has obvious sentimental attachment for us. I remember walking through the door to our room (I'm pretty sure we got upgraded when they found out we were newlyweds) and being blown away with the beautiful design and amazingly comfortable bed! We had such a lovely time we came back a little while later and our experience was much the same. I'm planning another trip which made me think I should write a review as we loved it so much! The staff are always polite and helpful and the beds are so lovely we went out the next day to buy linen with a higher thread count for our own bed! I love that the prices are reasonable, so it feels like a treat you can really enjoy, not something you need a second mortgage for! The breakfast was lovely too, we really couldn't fault it!

I stayed as part of a large group on a Sunday.

Room was good standard and made good use of the space - nice to get away from the "square" standard. Bathroom was big and everything worked.

Staff pleasant. Bar good. Breakfast OK but limited vegetarian options. Dinner was good and pre-drinks on the terrace overlooking the city fantastic.

I didn't have to pay so have no idea of cost.

Stayed here last year to watch the football as a wee treat. Great location, lovely hotel, very chic, food is very good also, great service, they even left a birthday gift! Worth booking parking in advance (or it might be first come, first served)
