We chose this hotel because of the proximity to the Cathedrals as we were attending my Masters graduation ceremony in the Anglican Cathedral last week. We found the staff extremely helpful and friendly and we had a most enjoyable stay. The room was of a good standard and the bathroom had a decent sized bath and shower. As the rooms have wooden floors we expected to hear noise from rooms around us but we didn't and slept soundly on both nights.
We tend not to eat much at breakfast time so opted for the room only rate and found that there was a good choice of options for a smaller breakfast on the a la carte menu that suited us better. Overall we had a good experience and have decided to make a return visit soon as we didn't get to see much of the city on this occasion - and would definitely stay in this hotel again.

Room Tip: We had a room at the back of the hotel and sis not experience any noise disturbance.

Stayed here for two nights with a two year old, six year old and husband. The room was spacious and the decor was clean, nice and simple although my husband felt it was a little style over substance. The bathroom was large and the REN products were lovely. The staff were lovely and accommodating, very friendly with the children and helpful with places to see.

Our room was on a corner and although some people complained about the noise in previous reviews, we didn't have any problems with the windows being opened all night (stayed Wednesday and Thursday). The room was very hot and the hotel did provide two fans to use which helped a little. We had breakfast for £10 each and the children ate free which made it feel better value. I think a review of the vegetarian hot breakfast is needed as halloumi and the vegetarian black pudding wasn't really my thing. Simple hearty food would be better.

We ate one night at the hotel and I was really impressed by the food. I think the restaurant is one of the top in Liverpool and I could see why.

The street the hotel is on is beautiful with two cathedrals at either end. An excellent coffee shop is Bold Street Coffee which is a few minutes away while a bombed out Church behind the hotel was great for sitting with a picnic/ice cream with the children. The hotel is central and we walked down to the Docks, going along the busy high streets. When returning I followed google maps which wasn't the best idea (in hindsight) as we went along some streets which didn't make me feel the safest. I appreciate that this can happen in any city so would recommend taxis or going back the way we came. The buildings around the hotel and in Liverpool were beautiful to see.

Parking around the corner was £10 for 24 hours and although the spaces were tight, there were plenty of spaces.

Room Tip: Room 207 is on a corner and was a little hot, so put the fans on right away to cool down the room.

At £330 for a 2 night b&b stay in a standard room you would expect a lot more of a wow experience than is on offer here. This hotel is definitely more style than substance. Our room was stuffy, noisy beyond belief from 6am environmental services trucks outside (at weekends - who knew?) Windows were absolutely filthy with long term bird mess. Reception inadequately manned pretty much all the time so you had to queue for your room key when returning back as the lone receptionist would be up to her eyes registering parties coming in. In fairness we were offered another room but this was dark and smaller. Really disappointing

Stayed at this hotel for one night last weekend for my boyfriends birthday through the mr & mrs smith website. First impressions of the hotel were brilliant we were really happy with the hotel. Able to check in straight away with no wait got to the lift only for it to be full of chefs who smelt really strongly of cigarettes they went up in it first without even offering it too us. We finally got in the lift only for it to then stink of cigarettes not exactly what you want on your way to your room for the first time!
Room was brilliant with a big bathroom sofa area and sleeping part (403) with plenty of bathroom essentials.
We wandered in to the city centre which the hotel is perfect for doing probably about a 10 minute walk to Liverpool one with shops and restaurants.
Came to sleeping on that evening and the room was unbearably hot the air conditioning definitely didnt work we tried to open the windows but as they were skylights and it was raining this just didnt work at all needless to say we didn't get the best nights sleep.
Because we booked through me and mrs smith we weren't able to book breakfast but was told on check in it would be fine and we could pop down in the morning and just pay for any thing we wanted as priced however we came down and were told this wasn't allowed and it had to be payed for prior we didn't ague and just checked out instead.

I didn't know much about this hotel as it was my friend who booked the trip but i was really happy with her choice. the hotel is gorgeously modern and i love the exposed brick and wooden floors which is running throughout. The place was really clean and the beds (including linen, pillows, etc) were so comfortable! We had the standard room but it was lovely and had everything we needed such as iron, hairdryer, etc.
Every member of staff i came across was really friendly and helpful. it seemed as though nothing would have been too much to ask of them and they were happy to help with any questions or needs. There was an air that they were all friends too and everything seemed so well organised.
It was really close to all of the tourist things we wanted to do whilst we were there too which was helpful. we could walk to most of the attractions.
I really don't think i have anything bad to say about the hotel or staff!
would def go again and recommend to friends.

Hope Street Hotel is simply brilliant! I stayed there on the recommendation of a friend, and after not knowing fully what to expect I couldn't have been more impressed. The rooms were of such a high standard, the staff are friendly and attentive, the building is beautiful and it's in a lovely area. Can't recommend this hotel enough, I'd love to stay there again!
