“Lovely hotel, great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 15, 2013

I am from Liverpool but I don't live there any longer. Whenever I go to visit, I stay at the Hope Street Hotel. The rooms are lovely - very simple but classy and luxurious (best duvets EVER). The staff are very kind. I love the seating area downstairs - really comfortable lounge that's a great place to chill with friends etc. without them having to hover in your room.

Hope Street is a beautiful historic part of Liverpool with a range of great restaurants and pubs etc.very nearby. An easy and enjoyable walk to the shops and cafes of Bold Street and Liverpool 1. Very close to the 2 cathedrals, all the Universities (including LIPA) and across the street from the Philharmonic Hall and pub (the most beautiful in Liverpool).

Room Tip: Room at the back can have stunning views of the city skyline

Overall an excellent hotel - great service from Reception to the bar and restaurant.
Good food and a relaxing bar area.
Our room was a little in need of refurb - flaky paint on walls and window sills and new décor need in bathroom but otherwise a great place to stay in Liverpool

Our first stay at The Hope Street Hotel and we were not disappointed. A friendly check-in, info on where to park and help with bags to room. A beautiful light and airy room with a view of the cathedral and a glimpse of the river. Super bathroom with a large shower and huge bath. We were surprised how quiet it was at night, no traffic noise. Perfect for the L'pool Phil and lovely afterwards to only have to cross the road to be back at the hotel for a nightcap in the bar. Breakfast offered a huge choice of cereals and pastries etc; the Liverpool breakfast very tempting with a good quality Cumbrian sausage.
Late check out and the info in the bedroom folder on the architecture of the street allowed for a stroll around the area to view the fantastic restored buildings and the cathedral.
The "Lazy Sunday" package is excellent value. Looking forward to a return visit.

We meet as a family of 8 once a year for a get together. This year we chose Hope Street and
we were really well looked after. For instance they reserved a part of the bar area for pre-dinner drinks and gave us an ideal round table for our meals. All the staff could not have been
more friendly and could not do enough for us. Food and drink excellent and the rooms very comfortable.

A very good hotel well positioned to see Liverpool and the area around.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the city

Chose this hotel as we ere going to a concert at The Philharmonic Hall across the road.

Arrived early and were offered an upgrade to a suite for a price we just couldn't refuse. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. I parked in the hotel car park and the girl went across with me to open the barrier.

The suite was very good. All amenities provided. We could have stayed in it all afternoon !

Dinner in The London Carriage Works was good and well served. Breakfast was similarly good.

An excellent hotel in a great position with very helpful, friendly and knowlegable staff both in the hotel and restaurant.

We first stayed here because it is literally across the road from the Liverpool Phil on Hope Street, a place we often go for concerts and the like. At one end of the street is the Anglican Cathedral and at the other is the R C Cathedral. The City Centre is a 5 minute walk away, and there are numerous small restaurants and cafes close by which have pre-theatre offers.

The hotel itself is modern and clean, over 4 floors with lots of exposed beams and stone walls. The rooms are individual, and ones personal needs (eg, bath or shower or both) can be addressed with the helpful and friendly reception staff. We have stayed in 4 different rooms, all of which have been lovely. Crisp cotton bed linen and comfortable beds, combined with attractive, spacious bathrooms with good hot showers have been the consistent factors on each occasion we have stayed. Last time we were given a complimentary upgrade to a suite on the 4th floor, which was a real treat. The bedrooms are quiet, we have not been disturbed by noise from the street at all. I love this hotel, and wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Room Tip: If you can afford a treat and a suite, Room 407 is fab. Great rooftop view over Liverpool and to th...

Lovely hotel. Nice and clean, remarkably quiet for a city centre location, excellent service from the staff, convenient for a lot of attractions. Turned up at 10pm and was able to haggle a price. Didn't have any food so can't comment on that.Thoroughly recommended.
