I first went here as a student when it was a smokey den with great food. Food is still really good and it has its regulars and its visitors and retains a loyal fan base.
Bold Street now has lots of good cafes - but Cafe Tabac goes on and on and its well worth a visit.

Been here a few times drinking and decided to have a meal on my last visit.
Friends and I opted for the tapas which consisted of Spanish meatballs, chicken skewers, olives, patatas Bravas and something else which I can't remember! All well presented and tasty. Also good value for money. Meatballs were really tasty and the sauce was delicious. We also ordered cocktails which were lovely and good value !
They have an area at the rear of the tabac which shows films sometimes and attracts a laid back student crowd. You can turn up here totally chilled in your most casual clothes and never feel out of place. Recommend and will definitely return!

Love it here come for drinks whenever I'm in town. Informal atmosphere and friendly staff. Tried the food here last time I visited . My friends and I had tapas , it was really nice!!! And good value too. Think it was £3 for one tapas or 3 tapas for£7.. Although I can't remember now!! Either way it was lovely, the meatballs were really nicely cooked and plenty of them.. Had cocktails here too which were really nice.

Very cool coffee bar/bar. You can get a good pint and a quality latte at the same time. Homecooked food as well with a jazz/house feel to the place. Only in Amsterdam have I found similar style places.
They organise weekly events like films and music nights. Worth a look
