“My local even though its a taxi ride away...”
Reviewed February 20, 2013 via mobile

We come here at least twice a week, early doors Fridays and Sundays for a very reasonably priced bite to eat and a few scoops. We bring all our out of town visitors and enjoy the special themed party nights throughout the year. Try the friendly bistro where the staff know their customers by name and by "their usual." With conference facilities, a 17 bed hotel and gym, there's also the "wetside" for watersports enthsusiasts. The view is over the marina where you can watch the windsurfers and kayaks cosily in winter, or out on the sunny decking in summer, with a separate childrens play area. Something for eveyone all year round.

“Brilliant lunch after seeing Antony Gormley's Another Place beach figures”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

We were looking for somewhere to eat after a lovely beach walk to see the Antony Gormley figures. We were very lucky and pleased that there was a table available in the Lakeside Bistro.
We had a wonderful Sunday lunch of very good quality and price served by very friendly and efficient staff.
We will come back and make sure not to miss out as quite busy and reserve a table.
Super Sunday lunch at a great location.

“lovely winter walk”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

We parked here to see Gormley’s “another place” men and it was a wonderful find. The walk to the beach through the lakes is full of birds, including eider ducks. Then the installation itself is worth the walk seeing the men watching the tides.
Returned to the centre in need of a cup of tea and found inside a bistro bar, that welcomed customers wanting food or just a cup of tea. Inside is a gym and classrooms etc. and boats and canoes are available for hire.
We visited on the Sunday between Christmas and New Year and we had a friendly welcome by very pleasant staff.

“Lovely Surprise As We Anticipated Less”
Reviewed November 14, 2012

After a bracing late Autumn walk along the Crosby beach, in part to view the now well-weathered figures of Antony Gormley's Another Place, we needed somewhere for perhaps a sandwich lunch. Our expectations in viewing the Adventure Centre from the outside weren't great, having experience of Leisure Centre fare in the past.

However, as soon as we saw the clean and thoughtfully furnished dining room our hopes rose. The menu was carefully designed to suit a range of tastes and pockets and the staff were very professional without being "cold". Our meals and drinks arrived within a reasonable time and a pot of Scouse was just the thing to warm us through whilst the Lakeside Platter and Ceasar Salad were also tasty dishes containing a good helping of food.

Overall, a very pleasant surprise being a facility which we will return to when next in the area.

“poor food and a long delay”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

Liked the venue and had heard good reports.I took a visitor who is a specialist in catering.I was really upset as they did not get the order right and the meal was of a really poor quality and took over an hour and a half to be served.I made a complaint and was told that i would hear from the manager and never did.Very disappointing and has not made me feel like eating in there again
