“Great buildings and an impressive gateway to the city!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 15, 2013

The Liver Building is world famous of course, the most prominent symbol of the city of Liverpool. But what we did NOT know is that the four clock faces on it's towers are actually larger than those of Big Ben in London!!! yes, really! The other two buildings along the front make up what are called the Three Graces, and it's easy to see why they're so renowned. Unfortunately, a lot of the rest of the frontage is taken up with new buildings and towers which are all very brash and modernist in design, and, with the exception of the new Museum Of Liverpool which we visited, look rather out of place.

We also had to dodge loads of kids on skateboards as well whilst heading towards the Pier Head to do the second part of the Beatles Story museum which we did earlier in the day... but it was all worth it, because how often did we get the chance to spend three days doing some of the city's best known sights and attractions without having our kids in tow slowing us down?!?!

First time ever on the ferry. Thought it was brilliant. Enjoyed the trip and was surprised by the facilities on board. Don't miss it

“A commanding view of the Mersey”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 10, 2013

Pier Head has always been an important institution in Liverpool, I have travelled many times on the Mersey Ferries but sadly due to rail and road competition they have dwindled to almost non-existence.

However Pier Head is still a great place to visit with a magnificent view of the Three Graces and a commanding view of the Mersey. Although my visit was on a rather miserable February day I enjoyed my time there.
