Went to see the ducks on a beautiful sunny afternoon, temperatures in the 60’s , in October. Fab. The ducks had built a nest but there was a plastic bottle nearby in the lake. Such a shame, the lake needs a clean up, lots of detritus. Still it didn’t spoil our stroll.

I visited this park on a lovely sunny day,it is a place i have been to before and i wanted to pay another visit whilst the weather was nice.
It has two lovely lakes, one is the larger one by the old newsham hospital and you find quite a few people fishing as you walk around.
It is full of wildlife such as swans, geese, coots nesting n the lake and also ducks with their ducklings.
I was also lucky enough to see a heron which was quite close to the fence eating away at bread and seed that had been left for the birds to eat.
As i walked around it was lovely to see children playing in the playground, people walking their dogs and everyone generally relaxing and enjoying the sunshine.
There is a large playground area for children, including a bike and skateboard area.
There are exercise machines next to the cafe which you can see from the smaller lake. This park is large with plenty of large open spaces for children to run around in.
By the second smaller lake, you can cross over the road to the other side of the park and get light refreshments from the small cafe, there is also a seating area and toilet facilities available to the public. This side of the park is mostly grass land with plenty of benches to sit and relax and enjoy picnic"s in the sun.
There is a garden area which requires some work on it and would look lovely if it were maintained properly.
There is plenty of road parking around the park and no one appeared to have a problem parking.
A lovely large park to visit whether you want to walk, jog, walk your dog, fish or generally want to sit and relax and enjoy the wildlife.Disability access for wheelchairs or prams.
I would recommend a visit if you are in Liverpool.

Went for a walk on a cold , windy day , it was raining too. However the park looked great, well cared for with lots of new trees being planted. It will look even nicer once the trees are fully grown. It is good to see the investment in the park.
We even saw a squirrel, fab.

This park has been here for years when I was a youngster we they had boats that you could hire and row around the lake till they called your number and you had to head back to take it back
And used to go fishing also you can still fish there and still quite a lot of fish in the lake
Or just walk round and let the kids play and let them tire them self’s out.
