A fabulous building that has to be experienced. Go to the top and enjoy the view and then sit and read in the magnificent reading room. You don't have to be a member of the library to enjoy this magnificent facility.

Look further than the impressive new library, go to the roof terrace, go to refurbished older parts of the library, see the original Charter for Liverpool.

Along with the museum and Walker art gallery which all stand in a row the library is a must visit when visiting Liverpool and still FOC.

I was very impressed with the use of space and the renovations that have taken place here. I visited on a Sunday morning when it was busy and loved the blend of old (the old reading room remains intact complete with domed ceiling and metal stairs to higher levels) and the new (the children's library was particularly impressive). The number of tablets and computers (including a computer games section with wide screen TV and x-box) was great and the enthusiasm of the small children visiting the children's room was great. This is how libraries should be! Well worth a visit.
