My English husband (who is not from Liverpool) and myself decided to visit Liverpool because I am a Beatles fan. We were both pleasantly surprised by its tidiness. Coming from France, I was amazed how clean the city is, no rubbish, no graffiti, the pedestrian areas are cleaned every night. To prepare your city walks and if you are a Beatles fan, I would recommend that you buy a guide book called "The Beatles Liverpool" by Ron Jones. The book has maps and the itinerary on how to visit the city centre while giving you information on what to see, not just of places connected with the Beatles but also of other places of interest in Liverpool. You also get an itinerary to visit the suburban places connected with the Beatles. A most helpful and interesting guide book, I wish I had had this book before coming to Liverpool to prepare my stay.

Liverpool is a superbly engrossing city - it's big and modern but coupled with fantastic gems like the China Town. The waterfront is an awesome skyline and well worth visiting. One of my favourite cities anywhere.

We spent a whole day sightseeing a around Liverpool, it wear very interesting , we visited the docks had a few drinks in the pubs where the Beatles used to play when they started off in there early days, also we went to the Britannia Vaults,Albert Dock, Liverpool to see all about the Beatles story, the web site for it is www.beatlesstory.com. We had a look at all the haunts where they used to go and took a taxi ride out to where John Lennon grew up has a boy. The day out were very interesting. If you want to take a taxi ride out to John lennon's house it will cost you 10 pounds in a taxi from the city and 10 back.
